My book club just picked Tom Lake for our November read, and I still have this prompt to fill, so woohoo! Now the only question is whether the library will come through in time - I'm hold 14 for 2 copies.

I read This Magnificent Dappled Sea by David Biro. I believe I acquired this as a free Kindle First Reads book.I have it 3 stars. The first half was strong, but the second half was unsatisfactory. The author is a medical doctor, and the first half deals heavily on a medical situation (although not the author's medical specialty), so maybe that's why the first half is stronger? The emotional connections are actually the strength of the first half, but maybe he is more familiar with the emotional feelings related to medical situations that the parts of the plot dealt with in part 2?
It was a pleasant enough read, but I was disappointed by the ending especially. It was like he couldn't figure out how to end the story, so he just stopped.
