Anna is watching this thread, so keep the guesses coming please!
She also added: "I'm also starting to suspect that "classic" may mean "epic", as in "all the kids thought this book was epic" XD It's entirely possible it's not actually an older, classic book."

I loved books about anthromorphic animals, fuzzy people and such. I'll have to think about this one and comb the library shelves to see if I can remember it.

This sounds like a little critter book by Mercer MeyerBased on the tantrum, I would guess either Me Too! or I Was So Mad

Wow! I would not have guessed that but I did enjoy that series when I was little.

I was asked about this yesterday, and I couldn't help, but maybe someone else will know what this is about :D
An illustrated children's book, younger than a chapter book, with a story about a family of hairy brown or grey animals, that could be bears or rodents, or maybe they're not an actual animal, but they're not rabbits. They act like humans, or maybe they're humanoid shaped? There's at least one kid in the family, possibly two. The youngest kid is grumpy at some point in the story, or throws a tantrum, and there is an illustration of this. The family is most likely pictured on the cover, so three or four hairy grey/brown animals.
(Writing this out it sounds like Goldilocks, but I don't think that's it :D )
They said they probably read this sometime in the 90s, but felt like it was a classic, so it could be older.
I tried looking at lists of classic children's books, but since I don't know the book, that didn't really help.
Does this ring a bell for anyone?
(Yes, I know about What's the Name of That Book.)
