Re the question: I am not a big gamer, but my husband is a GAMER, as are his friends, so I may be consulting him along the way if there is a critical concept that's not clicking for me. One of my favorite boardgames is a game called Splendor. You save up and trade for gemstones. I'm pretty sure one of the character cards is Catherine de' Medici. It's a lot of fun and would probably make a fun (and maybe violent...) movie.
