3rd book in the series. It's one I'm looking forward to as well. With these books, the characters continue but the story is separate, so I don't think it's crucial that you've read the first two, but more helpful.

Stephen Burridge | 1122 comments I’m normally pretty relaxed about checking out a series by trying a later book. Unless there is a really strong overarching narrative, I don’t think it’s likely to spoil the earlier volumes for me.

Alan Lewis | 0 comments I must be getting old. My Kindle says I've read Old Man's War, yet I don't remember much. I can, however, tell you what I did the summer of 1969. With that out of the way, I'll re-read that and carry on as I already own copies of the first 3 books in the series.
