That happened to me. It turned out to be I had tried to upload a cover in PNG format, and it wanted JPG.
I hope that helps.

Thanks Iain! I was posting it in .jpg but it was 3.5MB. Saved it at 85% quality so it was 950KB and it worked!
So FYI to anyone else.... ;)

Well it seems you are lucky. I got through the registration part OK and was told to check my email inbox for information re how to log in and ...... nothing.
Checking the second link brought me to a load of spiel trying to reel me in to paying $150, but nothing regarding registering my book. I am beginning to wonder if this is not a fishing exercise on their part.

Thank you Jeff and Iain - we have updated the submission page to reflect the size restriction on the image.
Thank you for pointing out the email issues we were temporarily experiencing, Leslie. If you continue to have issues logging in, just request a password reset and you should be good to go. :)
We've received a lot of submissions and are notifying our reviewers accordingly. Some of you may have already noticed a purchase shortly after your submission, which is a sign our team is reading your novel.
Thank you!

Thanks for the opportunity

Hi Suzanna - thanks for your submission :) You can submit any number of books at any time, and there is no cost for either submission or the review, and our volunteer reviewers will purchase work at their own cost. They will then post completed reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and Editors Weekly.
We are a small group of editors who have joined together to provide authors fair, impartial, and constructive editorial reviews on their novels.
We love singular novels, and with books in series, prefer them in order. All our submissions and reviews are 100% free, and once reviewed, we post our reviews on both Amazon and Goodreads, along with a dedicated page on Editor's Weekly.
Our goal is to help great independent authors get some traction, and also get their novels reviewed without the exorbitant prices many other facilities charge.
Note that as we are a free platform, your submission will be entered into the queue and will be reviewed whenever one of our staff picks it. Due to the number of submissions we receive:
1) Improperly edited submissions/author profiles will result in the assumption that the same level of care was put into the novel, and therefore, is unlikely to be reviewed. So please make sure you fully complete your submission and author profile!
2) Contacting us regarding the status of your review is not permitted! We operate impartially and do not have preferential treatment.
3) Novels that demonstrate they do not have sufficient copyediting or polishing are likewise unlikely to be reviewed - we want work you, as an author, would be proud to hard-cover publish using your own money!
4) You will not receive notification about your novel once it is submitted. We will post reviews on all platforms, and whether it be a really good one or one that isn't as awesome as you'd prefer, we don't edit/remove them once completed.
5) We purchase all the novels ourselves, so there is no need for you to submit the manuscript to us.
6) Your novel must be listed on Amazon.
Finally, note that although all of us at EDW have been in literature for many years, this is a new offering. Accordingly, although we do have a number of novels in queue already through internal submissions, submissions sooner rather than later are more likely to be reviewed, as we anticipate the queue to swell up quickly based on our initial tests. We are also launching on social media platforms, so if you do get a chance to tell others about us and send us a PM here on Goodreads, we can attach that to your review submission so that reviewers are encouraged to reciprocate the goodwill.
Thank you!
