THE BASICS. All people, of course, must follow the rules. You have three chances before you're out, unless something completely serious happens in which case the moderators will discuss. Depending on what conclusion they reach, you will or will not be given another chance.

GROUP/BEHAVIOR RULES. These rules are to be used around the group - outside of roleplay and when interacting with other members.
1. You may not create any new topics. If you wish for a new topic to be created, then please request one in the Suggestions + Questions thread. One of the moderators will look it over and, assuming that it is a reasonable request (and not a "secret love spot" - yes, those have been requested before), it will be created. We're always open to new ideas, and would love for you to suggest some!

2. Please notify the group of an absence if possible. If you're like, grounded, then disregard this. But if you are going on a three week vacation to the Hawaiian islands, then first of all, I'm pretty sure we're all wondering if we can fit in your suitcase and secondly, we'd like to know! Or if you have a week of hardcore final exams coming up and decide to take a week and a half off of Goodreads in order to study, then we'd like to know! It is appropriate to finish up any RPs, and also, if you wish, you may leave the control of your characters under someone else. But please tell us!

3. Discrimination will not be tolerated. We are lucky enough to live in a society which tries to be progressive and solve social problems, and we certainly do not need any of that negativity in our group. Ethnic/racial, cultural, religious, or any other type of discrimination will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate removal. Granted, if something is unintentional (i.e. someone asks a Christian about the significance of Lent and the Christian gets insulted), then an apology is appropriate and there will be no penalty.

4. Swearing is fine, so long as it is not directly insulting another member. This kind of means just be nice. Do keep in mind that slurs (slut, whore, nigga, chink, etc.) are never acceptable. For example:
"Oh my God, Aubree is such a fucking cunt. I hate that goddamn Jap." <- BAD!

"Damn it, they're playing 'Blurred Lines' on the radio. I fucking hate that goddamn song." <- GOOD! (and if that is your opinion: I wholeheartedly agree)

There is zero obligation to cuss. If you want to, you can. If you don't want to, you don't have to. It's OK. We're all friends here. :)

5. Be nice and respectful to other members. Or, at least, don't be a jerk. I don't think this one needs much explaining. It's not that hard, really.

6. Don't plagiarize. Ever. It's totally not cool, and literally everyone hates it. So just... don't. For the love of all that is good and holy, please don't.

7. Don't spam in informational, character, or other important threads. I don't really care about spam in roleplay threads; I do like to encourage y'all to be be social. But in my nice threads? No.

CHARACTER RULES. When you are making your character, please keep these in mind.
1. Post your characters in the proper threads. There is a thread for Government + Family characters, for Loyalist characters, and for Commoner characters. There is also a thread for Unfinished Characters.

2. Read the information and plot before character creation. It will make things so much easier for you, and me, and everyone else in the group.

3. Characters must be approved by a moderator before being role played with. It shouldn't take too long. Believe me. Someone's bound to be online. Mod Aubree spends most of her time at school on Goodreads (what did the school expect when they made iPads mandatory?) and has no life outside of school, so is online at home, too.

4. Include all fields listed on the character form. Okay, so I get that people are often very artistic and creative with their character formats. However, I still need to be able to find the things I need listed easily. So go ahead and add things if you like, you can add GIFs, decorative dividers, hell, you can list their blood type if that floats your boat. But list all the things that I ask for.

5. You may have as many characters as you want... as long as you can handle them. So don't make twenty characters. But if you can handle fifteen? Go for it. If you can only handle four? That's cool, too. Just keep the gender count even.

6. Face claims are unlimited, but don't be an ass about it. Please, please don't pick like a 35-year-old for your high school face claim. 20s, fine, whatever, as long as they at least look on the younger side. Also, don't be a jerk -- meaning, don't FC twenty-five people and only have ten characters.

7. Do not completely base your character off of a real person or copyrighted character. For example, if Nina Dobrev is your face claim, do not name her Nina Dobrev and base every bit of her character off of what you know about her. Or, don't use Holland Roden as a face claim and then proceed to name your character Lydia Martin, and basically use the character from Teen Wolf. Yeah, no. Not original. Try again.

8. Be detailed! This is a semi-advanced roleplay and I expect detailed characters. No, you don't have to describe the shade of tan their skin is in each season of the year, but be descriptive.

ROLEPLAY RULES. To be used in roleplay.
1. Any conversation in roleplay should be kept to a minimum and be in ((double parentheses)). For example:
((got to go, dinner time))

"Blah blah," said John Smith. "Blah, blah, blah, blah."
<- GOOD!

got to go, dinenr time.

"Blah blah," said John Smith. "Blah, blah, blah, blah."
<- BAD!

2. Posts must be at least four sentences long. They may, of course, be longer. 2+ paragraphs is ideal and encouraged, but please, at least put one paragraph and try to match your RP partner's amount.

3. No sex scenes. They're not that common, but yeah, no. If you feel like it would be right given your characters' interactions, a time skip is appropriate. Sexual references are fine.

4. Swear as much as you want. Really. Go for it (if you want).

5. No chatspeak. So no "ur," "lol," "ttyl," or anything of that sort. Unless your character is texting another character. In which case, that's appropriate.

6. No godmodding. Or, mind your own business and keep to your own characters. It's pretty easy.

7. As my theology teacher says, "Don't be a grammar baboon." Of course, minor mistakes or improper grammar for emphasis (i.e. repetition, fragments in dialogue/thoughts) are fine. I mean, people don't actually think about sentence structure when they speak. Typos are understandable and it's OK to spell a few things wrong, but try to be careful, 'kay?
