Sawyer Hall | 6 comments I'm looking for a beta reader for the third book in my mysteries series, which is written under my other pen name (Claire Kells). Feel free to search for my books on Goodreads - it's the National Parks Mystery series.

I just completed Book #3 and would love an avid beta reader to give me some feedback before I turn it in. I am looking for a fairly quick turnaround since my deadline is 12/1.

The short blurb - Two Investigative Services Branch agents take on the baffling case of a murdered man and his vengeful wife at a new hike-in lodge in Pinnacles National Park.

Thank you!

Sam Weiss | 14 comments Hi Sawyer! My turnaround time is 1–3 weeks but if it's a priority, I can have this back to you in under a week. I'm a certified editor who has been beta reading for over 7 years. My beta reads always include in-line comments and a detailed summary of my thoughts.

You can check out a handful of testimonials on my website: https://wisecatediting.com/testimonials/

If you think we’d be a good fit, email me at wisecatediting@gmail.com and we can discuss further details :)

Cheers!

Preye (preyereads) | 132 comments Hello Sawyer!

I can have feedback prepared and sent in less than a week. I pride myself on always giving honest, constructive, and in-depth feedback on every manuscript I read. From the blurb you've given, your book sounds very interesting and I'm keen to see how the story develops and all the mystery is unfolded.

Here's a snapshot of what I do when I beta-read a manuscript.
1. Spotting plot holes and inconsistencies.
2. Gauging the readability of the manuscript from the viewpoint of an everyday reader.
3. Critique of word choice, use of literary devices, and voice and tone consistency.
4. Assessment of world-building, pacing, flow, sequence, and character development.
5. Flagging stilted/unnatural dialogue.
6. Determining its suitability for the supplied genre and providing useful comp titles.

The deliverables include a well-annotated manuscript; a report detailing my impressions and suggestions; and a filled questionnaire with more than 50 questions on every aspect of your manuscript. Here's a link to some testimonials from authors I have worked with: https://litdarlings.com/testimonials/

Please message me here (my account is open) if you feel I'll be a good fit for your book, or send an email to preyeiwo@gmail.com and I'll get back to you promptly.

Ackash Kumar (adkthehurricane) | 40 comments Hey Sawyer!

My name is Ackash and I am a university student. I also write short stories, books and poems. Some of my work can be viewed here: https://ackashkumar.wixsite.com/home

I have about 3 or so years of experiece beta reading, editing and proofreading for budding authors on Goodreads. I also have been taught English by my mother (who is an English lecturer) and am an avid reader (since the tender age of 2!). Needless to say, I am experienced in reading fiction in many of it's forms.

I can give you assistance in terms of the plot, grammar or whatever you need checking. As of now, I am on semester break so my commission box is open until October! Hence, if you wish to ask for my services (generally, I charge about $1 for the first chapter and so forth), please do DM me on Goodreads for more information. I hope to provide the best possible service!
