Does anyone have good book recommendations that I can read now and watch the TV show after? Thank you!

The only book to TV show I've read & enjoyed was a contemporary romance book connected to Hallmark Christmas Romance TV show. I loved the cat that helped bring together a Lady Vet & Male Fire Fighter. Wonderful. I re-read the book & watch the Hallmark TV channel starting after Thanksgiving Day.
Sheila Roberts book "Nine Lives Of Christmas" was romance story with cat that was made into Hallmark Christmas Romance TV show.
Outlander, Game of Thrones, The Shadowhunters Series (my personal favorite), Kathy Reichs (Bones), Call the Midwife, Bridgertom Series - some are better than others, but they are all books with tv shows based on them!

I rarely watch a television show based on a novel as they are usually a huge disappointment for me. I much prefer to let my imagination run wild as to both the physical appearance and personality of the characters. I also like to draw my scenes in my mind's eye, after all, that is the beauty of a book. I generally find that the shows expand well beyond the confines of the novel, leaving little room for a sequel.
Fleishman is in Trouble is coming to, I believe, Hulu on Nov 17th. For a 2019 debut book made into a mini series already is really quick and also great for the author.
I usually watch a show or movie and then read the book. Unless there wasn't a show when I picked the book up. I've found if I read the book first, I'm often disappointed. It bothers me more when it is due to a major misinterpretation or omission from the author's work aka the source, rather than the other way. Some exceptions, if enough creativity or depth is added to balance out the change.I'm inspired often to try books I wouldn't consider mixing my media this way. Have found many duds but some golden nuggets too.
Right now I've been watching The Peripheral on Amazon and have been impressed with it so am planning to read the book.
The Expanse is another series I was impressed with that I've gone out of my way to read Leviathan Wakes and plan to continue the series. Some small changes, but also has additions that it balances out.
His Dark Materials series is one I read before the show, but was impressed with the show. Happier they went with a more mature route rather than childish like with the movie. The books themselves, I think is YA so I can understand the movie interpretation, but there is so much more depth that it is a much better series to read as an adult.
Really though, not sure what genre you're into. As you can see, I enjoy Sci-Fy and fantasy. ;)
