jas Hey people. I am just a lonely book reader on here and am looking for things to read after Six of Crows for everyone wondering that question - and for theories on what will happen in the next Six of Crows.
Thoughts? They're all welcome.

Carly Hi! OK I have a few recs depending on what you're looking for. If you can explain specifically what you liked about 6 of crows, I can give better suggestions.

"The Wolf Den" is about prostitutes in Pompeii. Like 6 of crows, it's full of scheming and morally gray characters. It doesn't have so much of the found family and magic. Being historical fiction, I do find that it still provides some good escapism. While the superficial aspects have little in common, they both share incredibly high quality writing.

"We Hunt the Flame" has enemies to lovers, an interesting magic system, and complex geopolitical relationships like 6 of crows. Part of the reason 6 of crows felt fresh was that it's partially based on Amsterdam. It's not a common setting. "We Hunt the Flame" is middle eastern I think. The uncommon setting also works here to keep it fresh.

"Priory of the Orange Tree" has to be one of my top 10 reads of all time. One of the best fantasy books I've ever read. It starts slow, but once you hit the action it's amazing. Like 6 of crows there's some good queer representation, romance, complex relationships between kingdoms, several interesting and diverse leads, intricate and interweaving plot, and characters from different countries having to come together (think nina and Matthias). It's like 800 pages though so be warned.

I'm ashamed to recommend this one. ACOTAR is popular. I liked it. I'm not sure I can say that it is good. It has a lot of the stuff that people like about 6 of crows. Morally ambiguous love interest (eventually). Found family. Magic. Different realms. There's some good pining. ToG is by the same author. It's also probably good if you like 6 of crows. Just be warned, this series is for an older audience and gets more sexually explicit than 6 of crows. I'd say pg-13 for the first book. R later on. X when you get to a court of silver flames, if you last that long. Good news, Sara J Maas is pretty prolific. Her work will keep you occupied for a while if you like it.

For the series that matches the best on a superficial level, I'd say go with "Infernal Devices". Like crows, this series has magic, steampunk, found family, pining, romance, morally gray love interest, action, and lots of angst. It's in the same universe as the Shadow Hunters series but set in England in the 1800's. It's Cassandra Clare though, so I can't promise the same quality of writing as 6 of crows. The nice thing is there are about a million books set in this universe, so if you like it you won't get caught in another rut for ages.

If you're looking for another magical heist book you could check out "The Theif". That's kinda a niche book type, so I'm not sure there are too many others out there.

Thow back, if you've never checked out "Maze Runner". It also has fun intelligent characters and a fast pace.

The "Cinder" books have a pretty cool fantasy meets technology. It's more futuristic than steam punk though. Each book introduces a new character based off a fairy tale character. It's not too intrusive to the plot. The magic system also has a mind control element like the drug in crows. It has criminals and found family as well.

I don't remember much about "Green" by Jay Lake but I think it's got that female assassin vibe going on like Inej. "Graceling" could also be a good one if you're craving a badass female lead with knives.

The magic in "The Shifter" kinda reminds me of what is going on with Nina and her powers. It's been a while since I read that one, and can't remember much else. I remember loving it though.

hope that helps :)

jas Oml wow, that gives me a lot of solid fodder for my next reading binge. Thank you!
You asked if I would elaborate on what I liked about SoC - I loved the LGBT slow burn romance with Wylan and Jesper a lot, as well as Kaz's thieving and dark spirit. If you know of anything with either (or better yet, both) of those, please message back. Thanks for all the books so far!
