Through Chapter 19 now--I think the parts that bothered me are mostly past now... just some of the setup always feels awkward to me, but once the action really hits, the book really starts to shine.I'm also really enjoying doing the audiobook for the first time... I like Kate Reading's character voices.
I adore Kate Reading! I love her husband too, but I know some people can't stand him... To me the two of them are comfort voices, I can listen to them forever...

I'm only just starting to pay attention and remember narrators.

Kate Reading is married to Michael Kramer... they've narrated TONS of stuff, both together and separately...
Together, they've done all of Wheel of Time, and everything by Brandon Sanderson, basically... depending on the story, they do Sanderson books together or separately... basically depends on POV...
In the Frugal Wizard book, Kramer reads the story and Reading reads the footnotes and corporate mumbo jumbo...
Kramer's done Licanus Trilogy... Darker Shade of Magic...Felix Castor... and a ton of stuff I haven't read, including some Graphics Audio...
Reading's done Memoirs of Lady Trent... these Codex Alera books... Fallen Empire (Lindsay Buroker)... Darker Shade of Magic... Lady Sherlock... and a bunch of other stuff I haven't read, including some Anne Rice, later Kay Scarpetta books, and most of the non-Laundry Files books by Charles Stross...
They're both pretty prolific... Kramer has a bit of a reputation for being a slow reader with a distinctive baritone voice, but I say most of that can be solved with playback speed...

Oh cool! I remember Michael Kramer from doing the first Mistborn trilogy on audio... I liked his narration too, though I remember some people in the BR mentioning they were tired of him....

I’m just not sure [spoilers removed]."
OMG! I had the same question the each time I read the books... I even did the math once the last time I read... I'm glad I'm not the only one who fixates on these things...

I just finished this the other day. I love the characters. And the pacing is great!! It was very unexpected. I thought there might be slow bits, bits where there was a lot of exposition, But there wasn't! So happy!
These books are definitely high on the go-go-go pacing. And I honestly think the first book is the weakest, so you have a lot to look forward to!

Regarding the storms (view spoiler)[ I think Gaius caused them by summoning the wind to speed Amara, but he knew it would cause a violent storm and that was an advantage to him because it pinned down the enemy troops, particularly the enemy fliers who were hunting Amara.
The repulsive Kord and his rodent children were using their power to increase the holders fear of the storm to prevent them helping Bernard, but had nothing to do with causing it. or at least, that was the impression I got. (hide spoiler)]
