Also happy to hear about other people's choices and maybe add them to the never ending list!

@Incomplete-sentence - Don't panic! Haha, see if any of the choices for the group reads appeal to you! Sylvia and I also plan to send out a link to a bunch of recommendations soon! It may seem overwhelming, but no worries!
@Yasmin - Ooh Malinda Lo seems so interesting! Tell us how Adaptation is!

The Malinda Lo book sounds interesting, I may give that a try as well...

And this is coming from someone who generally speaking doesn't much like either YA or coming of age type stories!

This is exactly why I haven't started it, I know I'm going to devour it and finish it in one night. And as Renuka said, it's really possible this is going to be our group book of the month, so I'm waiting to see if it is and to read it with all of you! I'm so happy you liked it Frogli, once I read it, I look forward to discussing it with you!

Have now started Under the Poppy, and by 'started' I mean decided I'm reading it next.

But anyway, I'm about 40% done with Everything Leads to You, and I LOVE IT. The main character is so passionate about her work, and I love how her sexuality is so completely accepted. It's just a fun, fluffy read, and I can't wait to see where it goes! Who else is reading it?

Uhm, I think I'm pretty much with Paul on this one. It's fine not to like the list for whatever reason, you think it should be more diverse & representative? Yes it probably could. But if all they are doing is spouting bile without making any suggestions of their own then they can STFU.
You made no claim that it was a definite list, it was just a list to give people a place to start if they didn't have any ideas of their own, no one has to read them.
So yes, carry on and don't let them get you down.

Sylvia and I are really happy to be doing this 2015 Genre Challenge with you all, because you are amazing people, and I love reading alongside you!!
On another note, I finished Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour and I really enjoyed it! The plot felt a little empty, but the characters were compelling and adorable! The movie descriptions were amazing too!! Did anyone read it yet?
Also has anyone read Beauty Queens by Libba Bray?! I'd love to talk about it!!

If they wanted to do something like, oh, CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, then they could add to the list with their own suggestions.

Thank you so much Tamara! Exactly! They didn't even bother helping us. They just told us our list was awful and walked away Thanks for your support <3
@Lexie - Oh yay! Did you enjoy it? Also, I personally don't love David Levithan, but tell us how the book is! If you enjoy it, I may give him another try!
@Sophie - I should have read that ages ago, but I haven't! I've only seen the movie (oops!) Let me know how the book is!

Currently reading Under the Poppy I'm liking it but am tired and this one requires concentration so may wait until the weekend to pick it up again.

The Perks is really good and emotional and sad. The movie is just as good, because the author wrote the script. I love both a lot., I definitely recommend it!

Yeah, I think the author favored the wow surprise punch in the feels factor more than the discussion reflection factor. I totally see what you mean, after the big revelation we don't see the process of dealing with it. But I loved it, I loved the fact that's epistolary, I'm a sucker for epistolary books.

I shall! I remember starting it a long while back and getting about 1/3 of the way in, but I just never finished. I wasn't loving the voice of the narrator, but maybe I will with another try. I do enjoy epistolary ;) (Dracula and Code Name Verity are some I love! <3)

I shall! I remember startin..."
CODE NAME VERITY IS EPISTOLARY?! Oh my God I'm going to love that book so much! I can't wait to read it, I'm saving it for historical fiction month in our challenge, but I might not resist until November!

OH HELL YES. It's the main character writing down her story during interrogations by the Gestapo and it's freaking FLAWLESS. I won't say anything else. I want everybody to love that book. Not everyone does because there are so many technical portions (airplane jargon, etc), but YESSSS READ IT.

Awesome!! I haven't read a John Green book in a long time. Maybe Will Grayson, Will Grayson shall be my next choice! (I wonder how many people there are actually named Will Grayson...)

Wonderful! Thanks for telling us! A book must be good if it can inspire such emotion in the reader!! <3

Hey Ducky, glad to see you around here! I've been meaning to get to it as my individual read, I was just finishing Beauty Queens which was hilarious. Did you enjoy I'll Give You the Sun?

Still waiting on my copy of Aristotle and Dante to arrive but definitely looking forward to that one!

@M - Wow, I really need to read Dorian Grey soon! And I need to look up the other two!
@Rhia - I've heard so many amazing things about The Art of Being Normal! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Ari and Dante is amazing too!!

I'll be starting I'll Give You the Sun, following Ducky's recommendation!

Love in the Time of Global Warming had such a promising premise. An end of the world take on the Odyssey, where the hero is a girl and her love interest is trans and her two friends are gay and they all develop elemental powers? Sounds pretty cool. However, it just never gels together to make a cohesive story. Things happen but we barely get any answer why. It's a classic case of just this happens, then this, and then this happens. It's the first in a series though so maybe there are more answers in the later books.
My other read this month was Santa Olivia, which is about a genentically modified girl in a seceret government town, who uses her powers to become a sort of superhero. She eventually falls in love with another girl in town and has to decide between justice or love. Again, sounds like a great story. However it was soooooooooo slooooooow. And there was a strange obession with boxing.
The group read this month seems to have sounded interesting and lots of people liked it so I might add it to my to-read list at some point.

Aww that's too bad :( Maybe you could try looking at the lists the next time you want to read from this genre? I hope you find some books you like! Most people definitely seemed to enjoy Ari and Dante!! You should give it a try!
