Question about the Shatter Me series...

Do I have to read EVERY book to get the main story, or is it like ACOTAR where the first three books are the main story/plot, and the others books are new plots?

I am really interested in reading this series, but that is a lot of books and if they later ones aren't great I want to know ahead of time.

the series is divided into two trilogies, but the main story is the same. you can read just the 6 books. The novellas are extra, but you don't need them in order to understand the plot.
books in order: shatter me, unravel me, ignite me= first trilogy
restore me, defy me, imagine me = second trilogy and the continuation of the story/plot.
to get the main story you need to read all books except novellas that are extra
note: you can stop at ignite me or read the 2nd trilogy too.

I had the same thought like you: not knowing if I should read all the books as there are so many and I wasn't sure if it's getting boring or not BUT : once I started reading the first book I couldn't stop reading. So just try it out and if you liked the book than you won't even realize that you are obsessed with the books
