Sebastian opens up to Merritt, explaining his affair with Lady Cordelia and how he came to learn of Keir’s existence. Your thoughts about the situation? What judgments, if any, did you form? Were you as convinced as Sebastian that Lord Ormonde was behind the attacks on Keir?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I vaguely remember Sebastian mentioned in The Wallflowers that he liked having affairs with married women, so that didn't surprise me. I didn't make any judgments. I would not be happy in a bad relationship when I knew I couldn't get divorced. It was a rough time for women for so many reasons.

Yes, I believed that Ormonde was behind it. Sebastian did his research.

Robin (robinmy) | 2454 comments After hearing Sebastian's explanation, I assumed that Ormonde was the person who wanted Keir dead.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I must admit that I was distracted while listening to this part and didn't catch all the particulars of what was revealed. I didn't blame either of them. It was accepted for a married woman to take a lover and it was what young Rakes did.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I remembered in Sebastian and Evie's story also where he talked about affairs with married women. So this didn't surprise me at all. I understood why young men did this. They were always being sought after for marriage. This is safe.

Once I learned the story behind Keir’s parentage, I was absolutely convinced that the person looking to kill him was Ormonde.

I didn’t have any judgments at all. In fact, Lady Cordelia did the admirable thing by finding Keir a safe home. I think she had deep feelings for Sebastian that carried forward with their child.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments It made sense to me, especially the fact that as Keir was born during Cordelia's marriage to Ormonde, he is the heir to the viscountcy. This must have infuriated Ormonde.
