Bustagroovy | 64 comments Hi all,

What is the turnaround time on getting new books and editions added? I have a few just sitting there for months now untouched.

I even offered to assist in a librarian capacity but was promptly rejected without explanation.

Just wondering on the approximate ETA.

Alex (HEABookNerd) (heabooknerd) | 1145 comments I would also love to know this because ever since Goodreads removed the ability for any GR user to add books it seems like a lot of books just aren't being added.

I understand that the Librarians are probably overwhelmed by requests but it's frustrating as a user to have all these books missing from the database.

I've submitted new book requests in this group and waited months in some cases for a book to be added, even bumping the thread after a few weeks and still nothing.

Emily | 17603 comments There are *tons* of new requests every day. Changing the topic title of your post to say "Still open after x weeks" or something is helpful. Most of the open requests right now are from the beginning of August on. It is overwhelming, yes. Feel free to bump your request every week or so.

I don’t know in what way you offered, but the official way to get Librarian status is to apply for it: https://www.goodreads.com/librarian/a... – apparently it can take 7+ weeks to get accepted, so as long as that page says “Application Submitted”, you’re still in the running.

When I first applied there was no quiz and was rejected, don't know why. Anyway I did the quiz and it took 5 weeks to get accepted after that. Thanks!
