dotted with freckles and blinking at you with cozy, calming, oak wood and hazel-dribbled colored eyes, beaming his sheet white teeth, and showing off his sharp but smooth cheek bones, arlin is every high school girls’ dream boy. he’s friendly and optimistic, not being afraid to show his good looks and persona. though, he doesn’t aim for the girls. he’s aiming for the boys. this homosexual will often dress up formerly, even when it’s not necessary. at home, in his own comfort, is another story. you’ll also notice how strictly tall arlin is, standing at a scraping 6 feet. dominating but welcoming, this petite boy is a warm sight, soothing to the eyes. arlin will also get haircuts a lot, and his nails will be painted quite often. other then this, arlin is just like every other boy. as much as he is a sight to see, he’s also quite the curse. we’ll get into that later. maybe it’s because his looks are just so enticing, it deceives you. but we may never know how arlin gets his curls so fluffy. maybe it’s the shampoo?

yes, i see where you’re coming from. arlin hallows, in love with will byers, the ‘mute’ kid who died? yep. blame arlin’s personality for that. he’s easy to fall in love with, but he’s usually the one who falls first and harder then the latter. arlin is loud, but, don’t get him wrong, crowded and busy places are definitely his jam, but the every-once-in-a-while taste of freedom in secluded locations he can enjoy as well. arlin seems to never sit still. he’s restless, so to say, never letting the other person he’s talking to out of a conversation. whether he has to lure you in by retorting a half-hearted comment, or whether it’s him speaking softly in a yet-still disgruntled whisper. he knows how to get to even the angriest people, working his way around and learning what everybody is like, on screen and behind the scenes. this means that arlin won’t hesitate to blackmail you, but he also won’t hesitate to defend you from the blackmail. it’s a win-win, lose-lose kind of thing with arlin, because he makes it fair and allows you to henceforth take control when he gets bored of winning. arlin is protective, too, but he’s not controlling or someone who’d get into your dm’s and search your conversation history. if you don’t like him, he’ll understand and back down. it doesn’t mean he won’t still oblige to forcing his own feelings to nothing, which will result in him being a broken mess after a short while.
against all this, arlin surprisingly likes rock music and late-night netflix and chill times.
but, he dislikes people going too slow in a relationship. this makes him tentative, and impatient.

arlin was never a fragile boy growing up. he blurted out his opinions from the second he could speak english. some say he may have been telling you off long beforehand, just saying it in baby babble so you wouldn’t understand him and get offended. but, arlin means good, even if he doesn’t give a crap about what others think. he was abused at a young age for this. not so much physically, but more so verbally. eventually, his parents grew used to his queerness and left him alone, letting arlin be himself. in third grade up until seventh grade, arlin had a friend whom he really liked. his name was cleo. cleo was confused about his sexuality, so arlin helped him realize that he was bisexual. in the summer, right before they entered sixth grade, they got together. but by the end of seventh grade….cleo had been brutally murdered, leaving arlin lost and confused at why his brunette ‘bestfriend’ had been killed in such a way. now arlin has only slight fear of crushing on guys, because he doesn’t want the same to happen to them….or himself, either.

History: Malin’s mom, Karina, met her dad, Angelo at work. They got married and adopted Malin when she was 8. She’s got a sibling, Dash, who she loves too much.
However, Mal’s life has not been easy. Before the Gomez family adopted her, she’d had a horrible life at the orphanage. Her parents died in a fire. She has ADHD, making her lose focus quite quickly. History: Emil was born to an affable and wealthy German family in Frankfurt. However, when Stef, his dad, fell into heavy debt, they had to leave their Manor and come to a small one roomed house in London.
On weary nights, Emil’s parents would entertain him and his siblings so well that for 7 years, they were more than satisfied with their lives. Emil was 7 then.
But when he was 14, his father died of frostbite, leaving behind nothing but knowledge for his loving children- Books and books that he’d owned. Emil had read such books all his life and hence was extremely smart. He studied hard at the night-school and won a scholarship to Lily Pond Academy. However, he didn’t want to take it, insisting that one of his siblings take it, because he had to take over the role of breadwinner.
But his siblings told him that they too, had been informed of getting a scholarship, but it was not valid until they were 14. So, he decided to study so that he’d be able to help his mom to sponsor their further education.
Origin: His mom’s an American brought up in Germany, and his dad is a pure German, making him a German-American.
