Sci Fi. Young male is trapped in Dystopia like civilization surrounded by "goo". He talks to an AI (artificial intelligence) that tries to help him escape. Spoilers ahead.

I was looking to reread a book that I remember from when I was younger and can’t remember the name or author of the book. The book was about a young male who was trapped in a dystopia like civilization surrounded by “goo”. With the help of the AI that he can talk to either from a futuristic watch or implant chip of some sort he escapes the civilization and learns he is on a spaceship. The AI is the mind of the spaceship and teaches him how to become more sentient? Anyways at the end they end up falling in love. The book is obviously under the sci-fi genre and it would be a great help if any of you think that you have read something similar to the plot that I gave to list suggestions.

I don’t know the book, but you need to include a shorter rough description in the title. This whole thread is for people who can’t remember the names of their books so you don’t need to put that. Otherwise, all you have to go on in your title is sci fi, and that’s not enough to jog people’s memories, they’ll likely scroll on by.

Is it Oasis?

You first think he is on a planet (HE thinks he's on a planet), he has a female voice in his head. You later learn he's actually on a spaceship, and the voice he has been talking to is the ship AI. I think I vaguely remember goo, it's been awhile since I read it. It is the first in a series.
