“In Russian, most surnames change depending on the gender of the person. The last names in the list below are all in the male form. Female form is the same plus an "a" at the end for most surnames ending in "v" and "n"; the surnames with a "-y" ending can be changed to the female form by replacing the ending with "-aya".”

If you haven't already noticed, Pravitel draws heavily upon Russian influences. While I will allow non-Russian first names (although Russian names are preferred), your character should have a Russian last name. This means that family members' names may be slightly different because of gender. The linked source above explains the gender forms and has a list of Russian last names if you need help finding some.
