This month we are celebrating Halloween and anything spooky, by Reading Through Your Fears.

Whether Real or Imagined READ THROUGH YOUR FEARS

During October read 5 books featuring things that scare you and be entered into a drawing for a mystery prize package.

You can read these books anytime between Saturday, October 1 and Monday, October 31, 2022. Present his/her completed log to a staff member at one of the Information Kiosks by 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. (Scans or photos emailed to rhawkins@mylpl.org will be accepted.)

Any adult can participate in the reading challenge, but to be entered in the prize drawing participants must be a member of the Lincoln Parish Library Readers Club. (If not a member, you can join the club when you begin the challenge.)

We are not expecting you to read something scary or anything horror like, if you are not comfortable reading that genre. You can read anything that is more to your liking, as long as it scares you.

Example, if you are afraid of water, you can read any book that is about water, which can be oceans, lakes, ponds, and so much more. That can be a general fiction or any genre of your choosing.

Another example is, you might be afraid of heights. You can read a book that is related to someone jumping out of a plan, climbing a mountain, or anything related to heights.

The list is endless when it comes to phobias.

We always like to know what you are reading. We love to hear the choices. But, if you are uncomfortable in posting about your phobias, then you don't have to post anything. Comment below if you want to let us know what you are reading.

I have a fear of clowns, spiders, claustrophobia, dolls, and a few other things. Here is my selection of books this month:

Beast by Peter Benchley Beast by Peter Benchley
Hatched (Invisible Spiders #1) by Jason R. Davis Hatched by Jason R. Davis
Island of the Dolls (World's Scariest Places #4) by Jeremy Bates Island of the Dolls by Jeremy Bates
Clowns Vs. Spiders by Jeff Strand Clowns vs Spiders by Jeff Strand

I am not sure what my fifth book will be.

Happy Reading!!!!

Mara | 20 comments So far I have read Haunted House Murder, one in the Lucy Stone series by Leslie Meier. I also hope to read a classic, like Frankenstein. I don't want to run into any ghosts or monsters any time soon!
