re Option 3 Supporting Actress. If the actress uses both a first and middle name we are only matching the first name
e.g. actress Marcia Gay Harden matched with author Marcia Brown
NOTE - just using this as an example to illustrate the name .. this author writes mostly children's books.

Thank you! I had fun making it! :)

Aww man! Very sorry we couldn't make it fit this time!! Maybe next?...

I've found a few other tasks it would fit. No worries! It just would have been one of those pleasant task subject alignments had it worked out here :)

The Live Actions are on iTunes, Nick....at least they were about a week ago.

Thanks!

Also, every year, right before the Oscars the Live Action Shorts and Animated Shorts are released in theaters around the country. I typically try to see them then. This year, my favorite was "Boogaloo and Graham." It was quite good!

Those look good!

Absolutely! G from GLORY and M from Selma!

I always get excited to watch the Oscars because it often inspires me to see new movies and to try new genres - and now it has inspired this task. This is a two book task; so please pick two options and read one book for each.
Note: Books with a main page genre of Kids or Children's may NOT be used for this task.
Required: Identify the options
Option 1: Shorts: My favorite category over the last several years has been Best Live Action Short. For this task, read a book with a page count between 100 and 200 pages.
NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
Option 2: Adapted Screenplay: Inspired by Graham Moore's moving acceptance speech, read a work that was made into an Oscar-NOMINATED adapted screenplay. Winning and losing nominees are allowed. In the table, the right column titled Adapted from lists the original work that was adapted. You may select a novel, a play, memoir, a book, etc. Nominees that say adapted from a/the Story, short story, article or comic strip do not work for this task.
Required: State the year the film was nominated.
Option 3: Supporting Actress: I was disappointed in the Best Supporting Actress category this year, but it is a category that always features important female performances. For this task, read a book where the author shares their first name with an actress who has WON an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Names must match EXACTLY. Winners are highlighted in yellow and appear at the top of the year's nominees.
Required: Name the actress.
Option 4: Song: This year, Common and John Legend delivered a very powerful and moving performance of their song "Glory" from the movie "Selma." For this task, read a book by an author whose initials can be found in GLORY and/or SELMA. You can use letters from one or both words. Author middle initials may be ignored. Letters may only be used as many times as they occur.
Option 5: Director: Alejandro González Iñárritu won the Best Director award for his film "Birdman," and used his spotlight to advocate immigrant respect and dignity. For this task, read a book from the Immigrant Experience Literature list.
Required: State the number and page on which the book can be found.
