A very enjoyable thriller and a series that will hopefully continue beyond Retribution. Lexi and Rachael (and Finn) are all characters who will be interesting to watch and develop. As you can probably see from the smug look on my face, I picked very early that Debbie was the wrong 'un in the police investigation. Too eager, always barging into rooms, always filled in on details, etc. (A rare little win for me so I did crow to myself when she revealed herself).
The only part I wasn't particularly happy with was Lexi breaking loose and beating up Vaughn. A bit too far-fetched for my liking. Was hoping for something more like the way she was saved from Biddle.
Particularly enjoyed Rachael explaining to Biddle that he would not be credited as the Spider in his last seconds. A mike-drop moment!
Looking forward to starting Retribution now.
This was a five star read for me. I love Lexi's character; how she was determined, by whatever means possible, to prevent other children being subjected to the abuse she suffered as a child. She is definitely an unconventional character. I love her sarcastic wit, and her ability to think on her feet. I'm starting Retribution when I finish my current read. Links to my review of Unforgiven
