Michael McGinty (mcgintywriter) | 23 comments Please add the ISBN to the kindle version. (Although I'm the author, the ISBN textbox is disabled for me.)

ISBN: 9780645481440

Is the ebook available for sale with that ISBN on sites other than Amazon?

It is enrolled in Kindle Select, so only available from Amazon for the next 3 months.

Once an ASIN or ISBN is in place, only support can make changes to those..."

I thought as much, so I'm reaching out to a Librarian. Cheers

Thanks Scott. That explains why the textbox was disabled.

Actually no, that was because once any ID is entered and saved, only staff can edit it.

It is physically possible to put an ISBN and ASIN on the same record when creating it--you just shouldn't.

That is only sometimes true. If the ISBN were being used to sell the ebook elsewhere, then it should be added as a separate ebook edition. But that's not the case here. And searching by the ISBN on Amazon brings up the Kindle edition, so the ISBN is on its record (just hidden). When both of those are true (no separate ebook, ISBN search on Amazon successful), the ISBN should be added as well as the ASIN. I added this one.
