This is a youth chapter book for tweens or younger. I believe the title is the name of the main character. He is a boy who tries many different business ventures to earn money. In one of them, he tries to douse or divine for water, and he finds an old oil tank with oil still inside of it.

In another chapter, the town builds a suburb in which all of the houses are identical. When they hire someone to change the street signs, he gets drunk on cough syrup, and nobody can find their way home.
