The Vibrant Years, Sonali DevThree generations of women and the complicated, sweet aspects of their relationships as they support one another while learning to live life on their own terms.
I read Almanac of the Dead by Leslie Marmon Silko. It’s about two Pueblo twin sisters who inherit a notebook from their grandmother, but also it’s about the colonial inheritance everyone in the Americas has today. (763 pages and 70+ characters so not for the faint of heart!)
I just finished reading My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman, in which a young girl inherits a quest (and much more) upon her granny’s passing.
I read News of the World by Paulette Jiles, shortly after seeing the film, which I enjoyed immensely. I hadn't read it with the challenge prompts in mind, but one of the sub plots involves Captain Kidd's daughters and their rights to the land they inherited from their mother. Really liked this book!
I just read On the Beach which is one book that comes up on the Goodreads list for this. And I am utterly confused, since I do not recall any inheritance in the book. ;D

I read the book last year and I agree with you but...(view spoiler) I personally wouldn't have put this book in this list but I have noticed a lot of the Goodreads lists are bad. especially the typographic cover list.
The First Shot by Liv Constantine (prequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish), an inheritance plays a big part in the ending of this book. Fun read!
I chose Bendan Slobomb's The Violin Conspiracy for this prompt, and loved it in audiobook format, which supplemented the engrossing story with some beautiful musical interludes.
I read a delightful book called Thale's Folly by Dorothy Gilman. The author also wrote among her numerous books, the Emily Pollifax series.
I read The Fellowship of the Ring. I have wanted to read this series for years, thanks to this challenge (and the high fantasy prompt) I am finally reading the series. I loved it and can't wait to start Two Towers.
Inheritance: A Memoir of Genealogy, Paternity, and Love by Dani Shapiro 5 stars
The story of a woman's search for her identity after discovering her father is not her biological father. Excellent.
One of the best take-aways from this book is when they say you cannot judge the past by the present. You have to look at it thru the culture and technology of the time it took place. Something too many have forgotten.
in my Victoria Goddard rabbithole experience -- I read 10 novels by her, more or less without breaks! -- I found Whiskeyjack which features Jemis Greenwing's inheritance from his lost father.
Fifty Words For Rain by Asha Lemmie is about the inheritance of the entire family line and who should be allowed to get it. Story of the daughter of Japanese royalty and her African American GI lover and the lengths her family will go through to "hide" her and not "taint" the family by inheriting the royal name and palaces
The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan
I gave it a 3/5 but really it was more 3.5. Not something I would pick up and read for myself, but it came highly recommended and I truly enjoyed the experience.
I read The Testament by John Grisham. My husband recommended it and I thought it was a snooze, but I got through it.
Mother Knows Best by Serena ValentinoA unique version of Mother Gothel’s origin story. Loved this! It made me feel somewhat sorry for her.
I just finished Killers of the Flower Moon, which is going to also be a movie. I can entirely see why.
I read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier back in January. It was the perfect read for the intense week of storms we were having back then. I originally posted this to a A Book About secrets but feel it is a better fit here.
Inherit the Wind: The Powerful Courtroom Drama in which Two Men Wage the Legal War of the Century by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee
I borrowed this from the library thinking it was about the Scopes Trial and found it is only based on that but is actually fiction -- a play. I'm using it anyway. I think I've done pretty well with only 1 of 103 so far being fiction.
Cheryl wrote: "I also chose The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocomb. Reading it now. ❤"My choice as well. Excellent mystery!
