The writing was completely cliche, unpassionate, and bland. The ending was completely predictable, and some of the situations were far from realistic. I was excited to read it, because of all the hype surrounding the movie and the book, and I was utterly disappointed. THIS BOOK IS ALL HYPE.

My friend forced me to read it and I found the writing terrible. It was very basic to me. I'm also confused as to why so many people love this book.
Shawna wrote: "You must read where she went though. For me the story gets better in here."I agree. I found If I Stay to be good writing, but nothing unexpected. Just okay. But I absolutely LOVED Where She Went.
I agree with you Abrielle, I don't feel like I connected with the story at all. Not only that but I also felt like there wasn't any passion and I didn't admire the characters like I was supposed to.

It was obvious from the beginning that she was going to stay, I give this book two thumbs down.
I agree. The story was predictable and the writing simplistic. I really hated the hospital scenes where everyone was trying to sneak in to see her. So would not ever happen.
I agree. I was very dissatisfied when I finished the book. I now know I am not the only one who feels like that x
I tried. I really did. I just feel like it didn't do much for me. There's so much more that could have gone on to make this book so much better, but no. It didn't. I HATED the endings of both the book and the movie though. So much. A for effort I guess? I'm glad I didn't actually go out and buy this. Thank goodness.

It was extremely over hyped... i honestly expected it to be better... the plot and over structure of the story was lacking
Eh... I didn't much like it. I'm pretty upset, because the book has an amazing premise - I mean, deciding whether you live or die?! Amazing things could come from an idea like that! - but was executed pretty damn poorly. It was just her babbling on a bout her life. Which is, to be honest, pretty mundane. I agree completely. It was a let down.
