message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

I kinda want to start annotating books, but for one I don't like writing in books, and two I mostly read library books soo...

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

I guess I'll have to buy extra copies of a book I really like to annotate... (maybe Les Mis?)

message 58: by maya ☆ (new)

maya ☆ (is starting uni!) (chicknotcorea) the most annotated books i have are actually books that i've read and annotated for school (in order to write an essay about it). and they're all french like annie ernaux's "mémoire de fille", my most recent are geneviève guèvremont's "le survenant" and anne hébert's "kamouraska".

daria | 1 comments On Earth We’re Briefly Goregous by Ocean Vuong. It wrecked me and not only do I think of it regularly, it is dog eared on so many pages that the book seems a lot thicker than it actually is.

Lara Markart | 2 comments solitaire by alice oseman and the so g of achilles by madeline miller

message 74: by Nol (new)

Nol | 3 comments I would have to say Circe! Actually, Circe and The Song of Achilles were the first books I ever felt the urge to annotate (i used to hate the idea)

message 75: by Braelyn (new)

Braelyn Roberts | 7 comments The Great Gatsby
But that's because I had to read it for school and annotations were graded and I think I would've enjoyed reading it more if I didn't have to take note of every little thing :'(

message 76: by jul ✩ (new)

jul ✩ (julkindacool) The Picture of Dorian Gray is probably my most annotated but Babel is a close second!

message 77: by Amelie ♜ (new)

Amelie ♜ (mycrowbiology) | 1 comments Admittedly I am not the greatest fan of writing in my books, so my options are limited, but my most annotated book is The Collector by John Fowles. I wrote many notes throughout the book, and in the last few pages I wrote a sort of review/analysis. It was sort of a thrilling experience, because I started reading the book normally, but as the story grew more and more intense, I felt the pressing urge to start annotating.

The Picture of Dorian Gray is probably next in line, but I'm not sure if it counts. I only wrote a few notes, but I underlined countless sentences and paragraphs.

message 84: by nessa (new)

nessa | 4 comments ok so my book process is thus:
every book on the first read: highlight and color code
if i really like the book when it's done ill go back for a second read with a pencil and annotate + draw

currently doing the second step with my copy of brideshead revisited 😙

message 85: by BellaDonna's (new)

BellaDonna's Library (belladonnaslibrary) Most annotated currently is ACOTAR...but that's because I just started annotating books....and have fallen in love with the process. Who knew writing, highlighting, and really going into the book- really getting into the story- would be so dang satisfying?

message 87: by Sam (new)
