The forthcoming science fiction mystery The Spare Man by Mary Robinette Kowal is the Thin Man in space!
If you like the Thin Man, William Powell was fabulous in My Man Godfrey (1936), which you can watch on YouTube. One of my favorite Romanic Comedy. Plus, Carole Lombard at her absolute best.

I love the Thin Man movies. William Powell and Myrna Loy were a perfect pairing. They made many other movies together but they don't quite compare to the Thin Man movies. Plus Asta is my favorite character. ;)

feedback@swordandlaser.com to let Tom know that The Spare Man is available as a Laser pick. ;-)
I received my copy of The Spare Man today. I’m looking forward to it.I’m also a huge fan of The Thin Man, although moreso the Nick & Nora-ness of it all. I find it amusing that, like the Pink Panther, the name has come to be associated with the heroes rather than the villain. Or in PP’s case, the diamond-as-MacGuffin.
There is an interview with Mary Robinette Kowal on Daniel and Jorge explain the Universe. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast...

My point in posting is I love Nora Charles and I love Myrna Loy playing her. I read that she didn't want to do the 5th movie, b/c she was newly married and busy with war relief. The public was up in arms that the studio actual considered replacing her with Irene Dunne. Anyway The Thin Man Goes Home was her only war (WWII) time movie.
The banter was so effortless and them together was amazing to watch. HBOMax had all of them minus one. I could see where all of the murder mystery tropes were born and they both gave a master class in acting and drinking. (except again in the 5th movie, where they didn't want them drinking b/c of wartime rationing).
Anyway - I had to share as it was a lot fun and next weekend I will be drinking myself blind with their cocktails.
