Bernard Jan | 217 comments Hello,

Can someone update me what is the current practice of adding a book which translation is split in two or three volumes?

I am not talking about the series, but a book which is rather long (like Gone with the Wind) and its translation in another language is published in three volumes.

How to publish / add this book when:
a) it has the same cover for all three volumes
b) it has various covers for each volume
c) it has one paperback box with three volumes with the same cover?

Thank you for your help,

Bernard

Those are the books published in the 1970s and 1980s which do not have an ISBN at all. Older editions.

Scott | 8608 comments Since it is one work broken up I would put them all in one record, and note "3-volume set" in the edition field.

Okay, thank you. This is how I did it for War and Peace in Croatian with four different covers https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6....
From some reason I am not allowed to edit to add a note 4-volume set.

Can you please help me with the editing of this book posted by someone else?
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
This is the book split in three volumes and this person only posted the third one. So it should be corrected into:
a) Title: Stephanie - U slatkom paklu 1-3
b) Translators: Vera Butković and Stanko Škunca
(Each of them translated one volume while the second one they both translated together)
c) Number of pages altogether: 1,204
d) Edition: Hardcover

Can you help with correcting this please? Thank you!

Hi Scott,

Please disregard my previous comment on the book Stephanie which is in three volumes. I just noticed that two volumes are published separately, only the second one is missing so will post it too.

If you want you can add a translator to book #3, Vera Butković.

Thank you,

Bernard
