SOLVED. YA Mystery about a murder that happens on stage during the opening night of a play. Spoilers ahead. [s]

I read this mid 2000s, it was about a high school play where the fictional murder in the play actually took place on the opening night. The main suspect was the girl acting as the murderer in the play, she shoots the other actress with a prop gun and she dies but they can’t figure out how. The actual murderer was the director who orchestrated the whole play/ wrote the script to cover the murder. She insisted that the fridge door on stage remains open for the murder scene and it turns out there was faulty wiring so the emergency door off the stage doesn’t make a sound
If you open it when the fridge is open. So the director was able to sneak in through the emergency door while the play was on and shoot the actress from behind and then pinned it on the actress. I think it was part of a series of standalone murder mysteries but I only read this one
