Carol Lynn Sprague turned a blind eye on what her husband and Bibby were doing in her basement. Did Lorraine Bibby do the same? Is it conceivable that no one in that neighborhood suspected anything?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I cannot imagine that Lorraine was that naive, but it did seem as if the neighborhood did not suspect the dog-walking senior citizen was capable of being a sexual predator.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I don't know how much contact Lorraine Bibby had with the Sprague family. Maybe her husband was visiting the basement while she was at work.

Bibby would have had many unexplained nightly absences that Lorraine couldn’t ignore since it spanned decades. I think sometimes we just don’t want to face awful truths until we’re forced to do so. I think she probably suspected he was cheating but nothing as horrendous as the reality.

Carol was so abused herself she was barely existing. No one could give you any “color” about this woman and after she died, she didn’t seem to be missed. She was also a victim.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I felt that Lorraine didn't have a good relationship with her husband. She was obviously afraid to say something wrong when the police questioned her. I figure Lorraine was happy when Bibby wasn't around. She enjoyed her time when he was "hunting," "fishing," or whatever he did with the guys. She wouldn't ask any questions.

Good point. “Just leave me alone.”

~Melissa~ | 429 comments I really wasn't sure what to make of Lorraine when we found out about Bibby. As already pointed out - she may have just liked when he was gone with the guys.

Carol - she was just portrayed as totally down trodden and beat.
