Sharon | 8 comments My six year old remembers reading a book about a puppy that is always last. She said at the end a little boy adopts the dog and says "you're my first pet!" so the puppy is finally first. She says we own it but I can't find in on our shelves.??

Sharon | 8 comments Thanks Lisa, what a perfect fit!! I showed my daughter and she said this wasn't the one. She says they were all dogs and not actually puppies. :-(

Does your daughter remember if the book was colorful?

Funny! The boy even said the words you're my first puppy in this book. Ok all dogs no puppies search.

Sharon | 8 comments Tammy, The Pokey Little Puppy was my first thought when she started talking about the book, but no that's not it. That was one of my favorites when I was a kid.

Tad, she said the pictures were more cartoon like.

She said there was a page where the dog was being kind and let the others enter the dog house first but that's all she remembers (other than a boy adopting at the end and saying you're my first pet). She said it had more color than The Last Puppy - the dogs were regular brown and light brown.

Sharon, do you mean the puppy is last to be picked from a pet shop or something else? Why is he last?

Sharon, is this solved? What is the book's title and author?

Sharon | 8 comments I moved it because I think my daughter may be confused. The book that Lisa posted - The Last Puppy - sounds exactly like the story she's describing.
