I think that a lot of London Society knew that both father and son Rippon had problems and with the Ravenel family and supporters standing firmly behind her, they forgave her.

I was angry for Cassandra. She deserves more than being "forgiven." She did win in the end.
I was hoping that they’d at least shun these two but things really haven’t changed that much. Silly me.
Kudos to Tom for at least restoring Cassandra’s reputation, as it were. It’s a shame that after this incident, the Marquis and his miserable son were still viewed in higher stead than Tom.

Cassandra did nothing that needed "forgiven". That just made me mad. And letting the Lambert's off the hook was not a surprise. Men with money are always given a pass, at least most of them.
