There’s a moment at Phoebe and West’s wedding where little Justin refers to him as “Dad.” Your thoughts? Also, what impact did that scene have on Tom?

West loves those kids and is the only father they have known. Tom just didn't understand how West could have come to be so comfortable in the role of parent.

[Sharon]

West's relationship with the boys touched my heart in the previous book. This is a reminder of how much I love West and how he adapted to the role of father. It made my heart flutter.

I think Tom was nervous about being a father. It made him push Cassandra away because children are so important to her.

[Jonetta]

This was a lovely scene for West and his new family. Tom was an outsider looking in and, at the time, I didn’t fully understand the impact it was having on him. We later learn he’d been twice rejected by two fathers, one his mentor, and West’s reaction to Justin was foreign to him based on his experience and who he believed West to be.

I really loved this scene for West. And Tom I don't think could believe that someone would love a child like West did. And especially, the West he had been before.

I agree Karen. Tom must have wondered how West could change from a man who didn't care about anyone or anything except his brother to a man who loved the children of his new fiance.

Tom didn't know how he could be a good father to his own biological children. It scared the life out of him.
