i would start reading today or this evening. 250 pages....maybe a day depending on how busy I am with my children.

Love the description - it's captivating, intriguing, and pulls me right in. I'm afraid for the character and want to know what she finds. I might leave off the last line, "It is unspeakable." It doesn't feel necessary. Otherwise, if I were to pick up a book with this on the jacket, I'd definitely want to read it. I can read a book this size in a day, but usually like to take a few days to truly enjoy it.
Definitely sounds like an interesting read - the only two lines that I would change are - like Vicki said probably don't need "it is unspeakable" and also at the start the line "in a lake when a dead girl is found nearby, pulled from that very same lake" feels a little doubled up - maybe just something like "in a lake when a dead girl is pulled out" might be enough
