Finished reading this one last weekend, but never got around to posting on it. Another great denouement you didn’t see coming until the last couple chapters. I haven’t seen the 1982 film version, for which I am grateful based on the synopsis and trailer (sounds like they drastically changed the script), but have seen the 1992 BBC film. It was long enough ago that I did not recall the ending, or how much might have been changed. I might have to watch it again to see how it compares.
One minute, silly Heather Badcock had been babbling on at her movie idol, the glamourous Marina Gregg. The next, Heather suffered a massive seizure, poisoned by a deadly cocktail.
It seems likely that the cocktail was intended for the beautiful actress. But whilst the police fumble to find clues, Miss Marple begins to ask her own questions, because as she knows - even the most peaceful village can hide dark secrets.
