Omg this book is sooooo bad. As if 50 shades wasn't bad enough, this is like it's cheaper, cheesier rip off 🤦♀️.

I hate to disappoint. If you read The Love Hypothesis…. Then you’ve pretty much read Love on the Brain. I feel like so much of this book was reused from the love hypothesis. The characters and even some of the scenes felt strangely the same. I don’t know I just kept thinking to myself throughout the entire book that I wish Ali Hazelwood would write something new. Lol I’ve read all her books -and she is a becoming like Janet Evanovich to me. The names and settings are different but the story remains the same. Hopefully if you read it you will like it better than I did.

Books selected for this task need to have an average rating of 4.0 or higher on GR. If the rating for your book might drop below 4.0 during the task, i.e. it has very few ratings or it is exactly 4.0, a screenshot might be advisable and you might wish to withhold your rating if you are rating it less than 4 stars. Omg I have no idea if this is posting right. Is everyone on the new book page now? 🤮Doing the editions is so hard now! I think it says paperback on the original page, but when I click on "more editions", it lists the Kindle version first. When I opened up the "add book/author", I went with the second version because I figured the first is paperback and second is Kindle, but when I click the link, it's going back to the paperback page. Is it just defaulting to the first listed version now or am I doing something wrong?
I'm testing to see if this is going to go to the other versions 🤣
Edit: Ok so it looks like the Kindle version was actually the first listing even though when you open the page through GR, the paperback is first 🤦♀️. I'll repost.

Thanks to a lovely case of insomnia last night, I finished a 3rd book that qualified, so since Courtney got her book posted this morning I added my 3rd book and posted our completion. Kat has already posted new tasks this morning so don't know if it was in time for us to get ours this morning too, but figured I'd give it a shot!
If it helps, I don't care what edition you link to as long as it takes me to the book you read. If you have any link that takes me to your book and the first edition Kindle page count - I'm happy with what you post. 😊
Here is your next task!Task 12 - 68. Read a minimum of 1200 pages in books with one word titles.
Books selected for this task need to have one word titles, articles and exclamations included. So books such as NautiCal would work, but books like The Thief would not. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.
I have a few books that work for this one. I'm starting with
(364 pages), but it's shorter in audio than the page count indicates so I'll have time to get through a 2nd one if we need it for the page count. I'll be over 600 pages with the 2 books combined, so as long as everyone else is over 200 pages each, we'll be good.

I got pushed onto the new book page a couple of months ago...maybe a little more. I hate it too, but I'm learning to adjust since there's no other option! I haven't come across that issue with the editions not being in the same order on the editions page as on the list of links, but I'll watch for it. I generally figure out which edition from the links list I think is the right one, then open it (from the list of links) in a new browser window to be sure it's the one I want. It's a pain, but I'm just obsessive enough about posting the correct edition (even though Kat says it's not necessary) that I take the extra step.

It was almost midnight last night when I was posting, and I was getting irrationally angry at my phone trying to get everything to work how I wanted it to 🤣

I can read a second book if needed. I picked a reread that is really quick and easy. So I can probably read another pretty quickly.
Elizabeth wrote: "I can read a second book if needed. I picked a reread that is really quick and easy. So I can probably read another pretty quickly."I'm about halfway through my 2nd book, and with those plus yours and Courtney's Chan will only need to read the challenge minimum (and she tends to read longer books, so shouldn't be a problem). If you don't have something else in mind that you'd rather read though, it wouldn't hurt to have a backup just on the off chance that Chan can't come up with something that works since she's travelling. I don't expect that to happen, but it never hurts to have a bit of a cushion!

In case anyone didn't see it, Kat posted this message in the Q&A thread a couple of days ago:Hi everyone! I wanted to let you all know that hubby and I are going to be heading out tomorrow morning to visit our son and his family on the other side of the country. So, I won't be quite as regular in checking in here, but will still try to do so twice a day. My hours will also be different - I will be on Eastern Time instead of Pacific and that adjustment is never easy for me!
Please be patient, but do not hesitate to let me know if I miss something! Tomorrow is a travel day so that will have more impact than the other days.
She posted it Thursday, so yesterday was the travel day that she mentioned.

Liz, I deleted your completion in the Q&A thread for now...Chan hasn't actually asked for a pass so she's probably still reading. I don't want to assume she wants to use the pass, because then she doesn't have it if she needs it later. It's great to have the backup in case she does want to use the pass, but for now I want to hold off and give her a chance to post. She did say she'd be slower while travelling, so I think I'll give her until this evening and if she still hasn't posted anything I'll send her a message, just to figure out where she's at. Since Kat's travelling too (and in Grandma mode 😁) we likely wouldn't get our new task before this afternoon/evening anyway.
Sorry, I completely forgot about the rule of skipping only once. I’m glad you caught before it got counted. 😳
Ok here's a weird one. I still have old GR page on my computer, but new GR page on phone 🤔. So is there a way to change my phone back?
My guess is it's based on what GR server is feeding the info, and your phone provider and home internet provider are on different servers. Unless your phone is on your home wifi like mine is...then I've got nothing!
Well, I just checked and while I have the new version on my computer, I still have the old version on my phone...whether it's on wifi or using cellular data, so just the opposite of you. I have no clue why.
GR drives me crazy sometimes 🤪I'm on the same wifi for both. It's weird because I figured it would be associated with the account, so would be the same anywhere I logged in. I don't see any option to change on either device. So weird.
It's cookies!!! I cleared the cookies from my computer first since it's the one on the new page, and nothing changed. When I cleared them on my phone though, it bumped me to the new page, so my assumption is the new page is the default. As long as you have access to the old page somewhere, DON'T CLEAR YOUR COOKIES! I'm sure that will change eventually, but at least it makes sense for now.

500 pages is right up my alley, but i know you like the shorter books.
Yeah, it's more about the time than the page count for me. I prefer books that I can finish in 2-3 days. So if it's longer, but it moves fast and I can't put it down, then it's ok. But if it's slow and long on description over action, then I get too bored to get into it. I was so proud of myself when I finished The Wall of Winnipeg and Me because it is definitely long and moves slow 🤣. Worth the effort though!
