That's my usual page count lolbut my MnG only had two options for 2017 and both page counts were under 275. I Wasn't in the mood for Ella Frank's Temptation, so i went with Jana Aston.

I didn't think this sale was nearly as good as the one a few months ago...most of the books I would have impulse bought were still priced higher than either a credit or the WS price.
yeah. there were some that were still pretty high. two of mine were a little over $3 and the third book was a little over $5. Those were really good deals. There were other books i wanted but the sale price wasn't as good.
Ugh. I'm really liking my book but I can tell where it's going and it's so cliché and stupid that I don't want to keep reading and ruin my good feelings about the book 😭.Why why why??

Mine was so close to a 4-star, but I just couldn't with that third-act breakup. Seriously, you type something you don't want anyone to see, and you just leave it in the recycle bin. Come on! Empty the darn recycle bin before you leave the office 🤦♀️. It hurt. It was so painful just knowing how the drama was going to unfold from a mile away and being powerless to stop it.

OMGosh i read a story similar to that and i was so frustrated. why throw something you don't want anybody else to see in the trash. AND you know it's a shared office space?!??! how dumb is that?
I'm half way through my book. I'll finish up tomorrow.

I had to really push myself to read the first one, both because it's a bit outside of my normal reading lanes and also isn't out in audio. Either one of those alone wouldn't have me hesitating, but the two together is a bit of a hurdle for me! I finally pushed myself into it since you and Tink both liked it so much, and I'm glad I did because I really liked it too, but it doesn't hurt my feelings that the 2nd one doesn't really live up to the first. I can pretty much ignore it guilt-free! 😁

Honestly, what I liked most about this one was the peeks into the politics of the town, which I think is a set up for a future book. So I'll probably try out the next one to see how it goes; otherwise, I'll leave the series and just remember the first one fondly 🤣
I can definitely tell when I go through a cowboy phase by my TBR. I have sections where there will be like 5-10 cowboy books in a row 🤣

Chan, how did you get to the full list of tags for your book? When I looked at it I don't get the usual "more" and "show all" links. I've had that happen a few times lately, and can't figure out how to get to the rest of the tags!

I got dumped onto the new page more than a month ago...probably a week or two before BTC ended. Are you still on the old version? Lucky you!I'm adjusting, and most of the time it's doable, if annoying. But every now and then I get a book like that one that doesn't give me the option to go to the pages of tags and I can't figure out why.

Well, the book you just posted is doing it to me...can't think of any others offhand, they were just things I came across in the course of looking for books for different tasks.I can follow your link in your completion post and get there (obviously), but don't have an option on the main book page to get to the tag pages. I have it for the vast majority of books, just occasionally come across one that doesn't show it.
ahhh...got it. i was thinking maybe it was a book that didn't have more tags. I was forced to use only the new page for a while. Not sure if you remember me mentioning that during BTC. I was getting frustrated because it was screwing up my ratings and reviews. books i knew i reviewed weren't showing up as read or anything. It looked like it wasn't even on my shelf. AFter a few weeks, they took the new page away from me. With the old page back, all of my ratings and reviews are fine. I'm assuming other's had the same problem and they are trying to fix before they force me to use it again 😒
Well, I hope they get the bugs all worked out before they force you onto it again. I don't do reviews and haven't noticed a problem with missing ratings or books.
but i don't know what's worse...missing reviews/ratings or missing tags. Tags are the lifeblood of our challenges. Missing tags will make it really hard to play on GR.
True, but at least the tag issue is only a very small minority of the books I've looked at - like maybe 5 or so out of all of the books I've looked at since I switched over. Kind of the same issue as no tags showing on the old pages - if you have something specific in mind that you really want to read it's a pain, but it's not so many that you can't find another book to take it's place.

Our weather here has been soooo frickin lovely. I just want to be outside all the time. It's bright and sunny with clear skies, Nice breeze and lovely temperature. I know it's the calm before the storm. We are about to get a torrential downpour in a few days from Hurricane Ian, but it's so nice right now.
It's been really nice here, too - sunny and temps mostly in the 70s. This is pretty very common for us in September, one of the reasons it just might be my favorite month! I've been thinking about you down there in the path of Ian...I know you're not going to get hit with the worst of it, but I'm sure you have a lot of rain in your near future. Enjoy the nice weather while you have it!
