Joseph wrote: "I finished The Printer From Hell in one sitting. I enjoyed it since I finished it in one sitting. The whole book was a rollercoaster where it seems like it was fine and then it went..."Hi Joseph, I also liked those uncanny fifth dimension references and gave it 4 stars. Was fluently written, at parts a bit to superficial and fast but had a good Twilight Zone feel :-) Cheers Peter
Ian wrote: "But didn’t that particular printer end up getting thrown through a second floor window?Maybe Magnus, the IT wizard, could pick up another one from the shady guy who runs the original little seedy..."
Yes, the printer was thrown through the window, but a nosy interfering neighbor threw it right back up and into the window.
And if that doesn’t work, the shady little sales guy could be brought back for the sequel. 😉
We have such a fun, creative and brilliant little group here! lol! This has been such a fun group read. Thanks to all of you for making it so enjoyable.
Thank you Leeanne and Zain for pointing this fascinating novel out to me and inviting me to the buddy read. Highly appreciated! All the best Peter
A big group hug for all is definitely in order...{ } Yep, been really good meeting and interacting with you all and, as folks are saying, a big thanks to Zain and Leeanne for organising it etc.
Would definitely be up for another buddy group reading starting 15th October. Count me in if this appeals to you guys.
Btw - that's the first hug symbol I have ever done...broke my duck (a duck is scoring zero points (runs) in cricket...not good - Lol).
Happy Days! :)
Phrique wrote: "Yes, thanks for the invite Zain. This was my first group read & it was fun! 😸"You’re welcome, Phrique! 😎
Zain wrote: "Sounds like a great idea to write a sequel. Since I would vote for it. And since she loves to hear from us, I’ll mention that IT guy should be in the sequel…with Josh. And maybe Ms. Munro. 😎"I'm so sorry I missed this. Got my new tablet and a friend worked on my Chromebook.
I did enjoy this greatly!
Hey everyone! About to start this one tonight and plan to hopefully finish it in a day, excited to discuss with you all soon :-)
LTJ wrote: "Hey everyone! About to start this one tonight and plan to hopefully finish it in a day, excited to discuss with you all soon :-)"Glad to hear that LTJ! Hope you enjoy the book. 😎
LTJ wrote: "Hey everyone! About to start this one tonight and plan to hopefully finish it in a day, excited to discuss with you all soon :-)"Hi LTJ, great to hear that you're into the read. I'm very curious what you think about the book and its ending. All the best Peter
Hey all, I started and finished this book in one day. It was pretty fun, and I loved the "In the Mouth of Madness" reality-bending vibe it had at the end of the book.
Netanella wrote: "Hey all, I started and finished this book in one day. Hope you'll do more buddy reads with us. I would have loved to hear more about that evil parallel world... it could also have ended in a what if ending... the pages before the final as a dream with the consequences he refrains from buying the printer... all the best Peter
Hey Netanella! "In the Mouth of Madness" is a good comparison, I hadn't thought of that while reading, but you're right. Agree it's a fun read.

I love the dream idea. 😎

Now that you’ve read the book do you think it can do with a sequel? 😎
Definitely a sequel. Perhaps with a different set of characters, though, since (view spoiler) Maybe one of Josh's therapists, or a classmate of his? After all, the printer does live on.

That sounds like an interesting idea.
LOL Printer From Hell reloaded... there might be a whole series on haunted devices, like computer displays into hellform or scanners, scanning different truths or imagine your next Teams session leading to hellform... the signal is distracted and leads into a parallel world. Interesting idea. All the best Peter

The book I'm reading now is called HellSans. A dystopian novel about a font that causes pure bliss in those who read it. But there are those who are allergic to it and are shunned. Could HellSans be a product of hellform? It's all connected. All things serve the HellBeam. Wait. Now I'm getting my fictional worlds mixed up.
Those are questions well worth exploring, Theresa. Of course, it is no coincidence that HellPrinter printed texts in HellSans. A connection which will be revealed in the THIRD book of the Hellform series...

Hellform's waiting... next time you touch your smartphone could transport you there. Maybe one way... no turning back... until someone lends a book and reads your story instead of the book he intended. Can the reader safe you? We stay tuned... all the best Peter

The HellSans doesn’t sound like the Hellform, but then I can be wrong. What kind of world is the HellSans? Is it a replica of this world, or some place else?
Peter wrote: "Zain wrote: "Peter wrote: "LOL Printer From Hell reloaded... there might be a whole series on haunted devices, like computer displays into hellform or scanners, scanning different truths or imagine..."That would be a terrible thing to happen. Having to wait years for someone to read the book, or maybe it never happens.
Scanning might be a good way of traveling, since most people rarely scan their printers. It would be terrible waiting for someone to use it to get back home.
Someone needs to write the book. 😉

LOL, just scanning away into the twilight zone... yes, about us seeking some horrors in books and finding the gateway to hell... darknet was yesterday, hellform is today... all the best Peter
Zain wrote: "The HellSans doesn’t sound like the Hellform, but then I can be wrong. What kind of world is the HellSans? Is it a replica of this world, or some place else?"Well HellSans isn't a place, it's a font that causes awful things to happen to a subset of the population that are "allergic" to it. I'm thinking this HellSans could be the specific font used by the Printer from Hell. Sounds to me like a font it would use! ;-)
Peter wrote: "Hi Zain, well, a buddy read turns uncanny...imagine us reading a book and ending up in a stranger thing named Hellform"That's a frightening thought, Peter!! lol.
Hi TheresaW, never use HellSans not even for fun... :-) The Font From Hell... gosh, our reflections here could led to many novellas, stories and even whole novels... exciting ideas! Spooky greetings Peter

Oh, a computer font for the printer. Oh, my. Oh, me, oh, my! Can this font be adjusted to another font size and able to return someone from the Hellform, and back to Earth?
I’m really enjoying thinking of a way to get back home. Hopefully the HellSans will be a better way than throwing the printer out of the window. 😎

Oh yes! It can be made any size (large or small), even bold and italic. And get this, the font is even more effective when it's bold - and the most effective when it's
bold and italic
.

Yes, this is the deadly formula... once chosen forever Hellform
Peter wrote: "Zain wrote: "Peter wrote: "Zain wrote: "Peter wrote: "LOL Printer From Hell reloaded... there might be a whole series on haunted devices, like computer displays into hellform or scanners, scanning ..."The gateway to Hell will be sought out on purpose. Sounds like someone wants to go there. He or she may not want to return like in the Hellform situation.
If the scanner, using the HellSans, is a one way trip to the gateway, thence you won’t be needing any technology to get back home.
See you at the Gateway! 😎

LoL about to hit 70% and finishing this tonight as it's very interesting. I like the characters, story, and creepiness so far. My ONLY complaint that I might ding it an entire star is I found several typoses. LoL it might be the editor/writer in me but typos in any novel I read drive me crazy and takes me out of it. I'm very curious to see how this ends...

Maybe Magnus, the IT wizard, could pick up another one from the shady guy who runs the original little seedy unknown computer sales shop?…both those guys could easily be made into belonging to some sorta devil worshipping cult. 😊
