Zain, your such a tease!

Theresa (mysteries.and.mayhem) (mysteriesandmayhem) | 359 comments I should finish up later this morning. I keep going back and forth on what I think about it. I'm not a fan of the dialog. But I just finished reading Stephen King ... so maybe I'm setting the bar too high for poor Amy. :-)

I'm finishing tonight/this a.m. as well.

Ian Guys, where d’you think that the story is supposed to be set? - besides Hell, that is! 😊

The dialogue seems to have an American twang to it, so I assumed the US, but then near the end AC mentions a payment using British Sterling. Just felt a bit confusing/ not right to me.

Mrs Munro…Lol.

inciminci | 652 comments It is England, Ian. He says that Magnus the IT guy is one of the top tech guys in the whole of London. Unless only Magnus is from England.
But Josh says "Mummy" or "Mum" maybe that's a hint, not "mommy". And they say "bloody", but I guess the whole world has started doing that.

message 108: by Ian (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ian Cheers, Incie - appreciated! (thumbs up!)

You know, when you feel like you're not in one place or another...a bit like realtime on Earth or realtime in Hell...as is the case in this book. :)

inciminci | 652 comments Hahah, I do, I do! Good point, maybe the author actually reflected this "duality" in language also. 😄 I hope I'll finish today!

Lol! - hope you enjoy the rest of your dark adventure, Incie.

Btw - Just posted a short review, so if you have time have a quick read and see what you think. Lol.

Phrique (booksbyphrique) I finished it yesterday before I left work so my brain was not in processing or writing a review mode. 😅 I liked it tho, I’m still shocked at how much Cross was able to squeeze into a book about a printer!

(view spoiler)

I am looking forward to the discussion when everyone is done tho.

inciminci | 652 comments Thanks Ian, I'll have a look!
At 75% now and had to laugh because this Dzigniav Wolonovsky guy reminds me off Gordon Ramsay:

inciminci | 652 comments I finished, wow!!

Theresa (mysteries.and.mayhem) (mysteriesandmayhem) | 359 comments just finished. that last line though! Ahaha. That last line almost added an entire star to my rating of the book.

Phrique (booksbyphrique) I could very much see them making a movie of this, wouldn’t be too difficult. Already a better story than half of what you see coming out now & at least it would be original. 😅

Theresa (mysteries.and.mayhem) (mysteriesandmayhem) | 359 comments @inciminci - lol loved your spoiler above! I think you called that one perfectly!

Phrique (booksbyphrique) @Ian, the “pen from hell” sounds like a promising sequel. 🤔

inciminci | 652 comments 😂 I love the creativity here!

VintageVamp | 39 comments I may check in later. Today is my birthday. 9/17

Theresa (mysteries.and.mayhem) (mysteriesandmayhem) | 359 comments happy birthday VV!! Enjoy your day!

Both people are ridiculous. That’s all I’m saying until everyone is finished reading. 😎

VintageVamp | 39 comments Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes! And for patience and the helpful tips for my 1st Buddy Read.

I agree, a movie of this would be original. I think the visuals would do a better job of showing the hellforms. The last 20 pages had the best descriptions, the face to face.

It was good, but I knew Josh was going down Wololnovsky's? road. I was into that last battle, just waiting for Josh's hellform.

Was Fairytale wonderful?
I just started Printer. So far, so good. (I can totally see the beginning exchange at my house.)

Zain | 340 comments I don’t know about fairy tale, but I enjoyed reading The Printer From Hell. 😎

Ian Hey Kerry - look out for Mrs Munro…am sure that we all know at least one Mrs Munro! Liked the character - made me laugh. Lol.

Ian My understanding of the epilogue is as follows…is this what you thought?

message 143: by Peter (new) - rated it 4 stars

Peter | 110 comments Just finished the novel. It was a rather quick read indeed. At the ending it became a bit confusing. Were there two printers? What about Josh? Do all characters have evil twins? At parts the story is a bit illogical with Steve hunting down his evil twin to bring back Mary and Josh. The tale reminded me a bit on Stephen King's novella UR that is based on a special function of the Kindle... the denouement with Amy Cross was also a bit strange... well, overall an intriguing read. If I see any mysterious printouts in our office printer I'll be warned... all the best Peter

message 145: by Peter (new) - rated it 4 stars

Peter | 110 comments Hi inimici, I think the shopkeeper wanted to get rid of the printer as soon as possible. Otherwise he would have faced Steve's fate... it's like Stevenson's story of The Bottle Imp but less complicated with the pricing, LOL :-) all the best Peter

Theresa (mysteries.and.mayhem) (mysteriesandmayhem) | 359 comments I'm on my phone so I don't think I can hide spoilers? I don't want to risk it. So I'll just say I interpreted the epilogue the way inciminci did. And I still absolutely love the last line! Famous last words, indeed!

Ian @ Incie and Peter

Great theories guys - thanks for sharing..so maybe below…

message 148: by Peter (new) - rated it 4 stars

Peter | 110 comments Hi Incie, TheresaW and Ian, would you have bought that printer even with that incredible discount? I'm not to sure with me. If the shopkeeper is that insistent and acts that strange I would have heard all alarm bells ringing and left the store... don't buy anything from a company I never heard or read about it... I would have been surprised if Steve had declined and everything had turned out a bad dream... all the best Peter

Theresa (mysteries.and.mayhem) (mysteriesandmayhem) | 359 comments I’m always a skeptic! There’s no chance I would have bought that printer! Haha!

inciminci | 652 comments I'm not sure about myself, lol - if I just recently moved houses and I need to budget and if the price is low enough that I think "well, if this device doesn't work out, it's not much of a loss since it was cheap" I may have bought this printer and would be waving hello to you guys from the other side. I'm also generally a nice person and can't even imagine hurting someone, so I can't imagine (view spoiler). Incidentally what with people (view spoiler)
