Patty gets kidnapped and later found after she supposedly escaped her captor and killed him. Were you fooled by any of this, including how Mark Avery died? When did you realize the threat was still out there?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1811 comments Nope.
It was obvious that it was a trap from the start. There were no details on how Patty escaped and it was all far too neat and tidy.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I didn't buy it. I was actually starting to wonder if Patty was working with someone to threaten Jane. (I didn't have a motive though.) I didn't believe that Patty killed Mark Avery and that she didn't remember anything.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I was not fooled. It was way too easy a way to tie it all up.

This has been a trope in some other books, but in those, the assistant's POV always had indications of resentment. There was none of that here, so I didn't suspect Patty.

I didn’t buy it for a second. She was so messed up but was able to not only escape but get the gun from her captor and kill him? Nope.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I agree. I didn't buy it at all. There is no way Patty could take on the real killer.
