Team 6: Something Wicked
While you wait for the game to start... here's a jigsaw puzzle related to the challenge: https://www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play...
Any ideas for the team name? I did some googeling and like these horrors of Halloween; boo from the crew; chills and thrills; mischief and mayhem; wicked witches; something wicked; tickled to my bonesAnd what monster are we going to start with? I would start with the middle monster - witch.
Hello! Can’t wait to get started! Something Wicked sounds good to me…Shall we go with witch to begin? I can’t resist witchy books. (Or vampires, or werewolves…)
I have Akata Witch ready to roll if we’re starting there. Lemme know!I will ask for help with the spreadsheet. Hope that’s okay. I do everything on an iPad & just can’t make it work for me. I can view the spreadsheet, but can’t manipulate it.
Great Something Wicked it is then. yes I vote for witch :) not that I picked a book for that yet :D
No problem, I can help with the spreadsheet.
I’m from Pennsylvania. Around the Pittsburgh area. I’ll read just about anything but my favorite genres are mystery, thrillers, horror and Nordic Noir.
I’ve started reading The Manningtree Witches for our first task.
Favorite books of all time?
Preferred reading method? - I prefer physical books but use my kindle at bedtime!
I'm from Hawaii (Oahu) -- born & raised. OCD about reading & books. I prefer real paper & ink books. I don't like to read online much since I use a computer all day, BUT I have been using my tablet at night because my eyes are getting bad! My favorite genres are historical fiction, paranormal, cozy mysteries, humor & chick lit.
Feel free to check out my 5-Star Reads shelf for all my most favorite books. If I had to pick one favorite author, it would be Isabel Allende.

Small world Donna! Born and raised around here but my husband was military so we’ve been everywhere from TN, to Italy for 3 years to Alamogordo NM. Returned back to good ole PA though!
I am from Czechia, currently living near Prague. My favourite genre would probably be YA science fiction, but if the synopsis sounds good enough I will try about anything.
I wil probably start with A Discovery of Witches hopefully I will survive it since I have heard it's very desriptive. We will see.
I dont think I have an all time favourite book. I have read so many great books, it's hard to chose just one.
Lately I have been into audiobooks, when I am physically reading a book I can't seem to focus much.

Oh Zuza, I loved A Discovery of Witches! Very intriguing and romantic. I still have to read the 3rd book. I’ve always wanted to visit Prague! So beautiful! Actually I hope to make it to Europe before I die…
I’m currently reading several series & can do a #1, 2 OR 3! Let me know which works best for you & I can use any one of mine! The Spooky title is proving to be a little difficult. I may just read Plum Spooky again….
I am sure you will 🙂. The sights are really beautiful. I think I can find books 1, 2 or 3. If I would pick I would take the book 2, but dont really mind which one.
And I dont think it will be the only. I couldn't find anything normal for zombie, mummy (actualy can we use a book where mummy in the title means "mother"), vampire (already have read Empire of the Vampire) and spider on the cover (I can't look for that 🙈)
I don’t think it matters, Zuza. What series number is it? That might be easier than 1st letter. Then we'd need to read titles for N&P, P&Q, or M&N…
Actually, I have a Q book ready to go! It’s The Queen's Gambit. I also just finished Night Myst today. If we did the title chain, it would still Carrie with a P title. It’s also 1st in series….That would leave Carrie having to read a book title beginning with P. What do you think, Carrie? Let us know either way.
Hi team! I have a question for you. I am getting questions about finishing early and redoing tasks for higher points. Would you like an opportunity for a bonus monster instead? The bonus monster would have a couple of extra books required because it is a higher difficulty monster to chain. Thoughts? I want input from all the teams before I go forward with offering the bonus.
I don't think we did, but 1 to 3 will be the easiest to find. I am like half way through my witchy book. Hopefully be done by weekend.
I’m going to read Six of Crows which is the first book in a duology. It’ll count as #1, correct? Unless someone else is already working on 1 in a series.
it's fine with me. i am almost done with book that is #2 in seriesLauri, can you read book that is #3 in series?
Got any & all covered! AND my Spooky book is in at the library...Which monster shall we tackle next? So I can plan ahead.....
Frankenstein it is, ladies!I’m almost finished with my Witchy book! For #3 in series I’ll either read Vision in Silver or Darling Dahlias and the Confederate Rose - - whichever I finish 1st!
How’s everybody doing?

Thank you, Carrie! I'm working on my series #3 book and my Q book. Going to pick up my spooky book from the library this afternoon! So I will have
Yee-haa!
Thinking ahead for Frankenstein Arm One, I currently have books with these words in the titles: blood, woman, angels, heart, daughter, ghost, library (3!), prince, death & girl…Do any of these work for us as a team? Lemme know!
Hi, I am like 9% from the end of A Discovery of Witches that book is long 🙈. I will be done with it soon. The spooky book proves difficult to find, still searching for one. But Lauri your pick for spooky book looks interesting.
I vote for death as a word in title, it's perfect for Halloween 👌.
Are you enjoying A Discovery of Witches? I read it a long time ago and it was not one of my favorites but most people seem to really love it!My spooky book was pretty short unfortunately so it was only worth 1 point...
Death works for me. There are a ton of books that have that word in the title!
Death it shall be! BTW, I am quite enjoying ALL my picks & should be finished in the next couple of days….
This is fun!
Yay I finished A Discovery of Witches. The first half was good then I started to loose interest and probably mised a lot of important things hapenning. I gave it 3🌟.Now I am onto the spooky bok, will be reading Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife - non fiction counts too right?
That's how I felt with A Discovery of Witches as well. Non fiction counts - sounds like an interesting book.
I'mm enjoying my books as well. I will be finishing my "P" book tonight - I'm reading The Prisoner. It started slow but then really picked up.
I think this is a pretty fun challenge as well!
