Review:
This is a fun series. I loved how Aldoggar was kind of goofy yet still a fearsome warrior but I especially liked how he treated Braithe as an equal. Braithe felt rejected by her mother's people because of her father's bloodline and her father treated as if she was nothing, even though she is of royal blood through her mother. Because of this, Braithe kept to herself, never asserted herself and tried to be invisible. But the events in the book made her stand up for honor and integrity and I enjoyed watching her realize she is a strong dragon of royal blood use that power to out her father as a traitor and gain her independence.

Hi Laura - for the selection post, I need your book link to match the page numbers. For the qualification, simply post the bookcover edition that meets the requirements of the task. For this challenge, you don't need to match the actual edition you are reading unless you really want to and it matches the page count you put down :)

LaurLa | 5091 comments Hello again everyone - I hope your week was better than mine! My husband had knee surgery on Monday and he's been like taking care of a baby every since. Not that I'm dismissing his pain, but I'm basically on caretaker duty all day (and some nights)! Just like a baby, I have to make sure he is fed every few hours, change his ice pack (not diaper - haha), and make sure he's taking his meds!

To be fair, getting his knee replaced will be a good thing in the long run and I'm happy he did it but we're both suffering a little right now!

Anyway, updates for this week:

Week 7 - still need to read
- LaurLa
- Jane

Week 8 - still need to read

It was probably closer to 2½ stars. I didn't like Charles or his uncle Julian (the ghost.) Or whatever relations they are. They come on too strong and creepy and unfortunately the girl likes it! It all happens way too fast. Quite sure I won't read the second book in the series even though this book didn't really finish.

Sigh. Kristen Ashley is like crack for me. A guilty pleasure. Most people either love or hate her writing and for whatever reason, her style works for me. Her male characters may be somewhat interchangeable but I guess they're male alpha characters that I just love. So this one didn't disappoint. It was exactly what I expected, although she kept the motorcycle club fairly sanitized - which is fine with me. I wasn't crazy with the way it ended with the suspense part of the story but I can live with it. I'll be moving on to the Chaos series now 😁

Review:
Overall this book was pretty good for me. It's a trope I like (insta-love/lust) but it was kind of disjointed for me. It seemed at times the motivations of the MCs would change but without much explanation. I enjoyed their scenes together and always love when an alpha hero falls because it can be fun to watch them be befuddled by their own emotions. Like I said, I did like the book, there were just some spots where I was confused at the change in the character's attitude that didn't seem to fit.

This was a re-read for me but it is about 9 years since I last read it. I still really enjoyed it though I found it a bit slow at times. Review:⭐⭐⭐⭐Originally published 1742 with over 100 editions in print and considered one of the first English novels, this book has a "Perils of Pauline" structure as you follow a young man through various adventures and threats as he attempts to reach his fiancé. Peppered with academic knowledge of the 18th century, it is an educational adventure. With many short chapters, each a small adventure, you can see how the popular tradition of that era, to read aloud to your family and friends every evening, would have propelled this work to popularity.

Stars: 5/5
Review: Dax, a pint-sized, pink-haired, enforcer for the premier underground boss, Two Tricks, has just been kidnapped by the five sexy leaders of the Phantom Saints MC. Eagle, Picasso, Cognac, Void, and Sprocket. It all started as a plan to kidnap Dax as a way to get a meeting with Two Tricks, to partner up with him. Then it became about making her fall for all of them so they could keep her and still get Two Tricks as a partner. In a short time, Dax does form attachments but love? Plus there's her sexy bestie Weston (Wes) who is desperate to find her because SPOILER ALERT, he loves her! Now she has six sexy alpha males who want her and want to protect her (even though she can handle herself) war with a mafia ring and a rival MC brewing.
I loved, loved, loved Dax! She is such a BA boss! She also had a soft side and a very sassy side. I love a MFC that can handle her own but also can accept help from others and let herself be taken care of. Now for the men. All six of the guys have that alphaness with a soft side for their woman you can't help but fall in love with. This series started off with a bang and I can't wait to dive into more.
