Review:
Historic romance, Christian
While listed as #1 of the Until the Dawn series, there are 2 prequels: Toward the Sunrise and The Rose of Winslow Street.
Sophie van Riijn, an amateur meteorologist in upstate New York, is using the roof of Dierenpark, an abandoned mansion high atop a windswept cliff in the Hudson River Valley, owned by the Vandermarks, to do her weather observations.
Quentin Vandermark, the first member of the owners family to return to the area in three generations, intends to put an end to the shadowy rumors about the property. When he finds an interloper, they are instant enemies, until he finds she can reach his very troubled son.

Review:
This was okay, a typical cosy mystery with the MC solving the mystery before the police. At least she has the help of a retired PI. My problem with this series, is that it seems like there is going to be a continuing mystery running through the series which I don't like. I might still continue reading the series.

Review: I absolutely love this book. Good thing it's fiction because their relationship is soooo very unhealthy. But I LOVED the crazy. I couldn't get enough of it. The crazier Landry was the more I loved it. They both were just a mess of possessiveness and obsession with a dash of jealousy. My only critique would be that the story did get a little boring when it went into detail about Trevan's work. Every once in a while it got a little too info dumpy. I didn't care how bookies and betting worked. But I still give it 5 strong stars

Ava and Cyrus's story was hot, dirty and dangerous. Mafia romance with lots of Alpha-Domination.

Review: This strong Scot male main character is not great literature, but it is an example of my favorite sub-genre of historic romance. On a day that brought me the diagnosis of a seriously agressive stage 4 cancer diagnosis for my hospitalized husband, this book worked better than a glass of wine or a valium. The story is of newly impoverished Lady Catherine Middlebrook and her romance with Alexander Waters. I would have preferred more historic political detail and a subplot, but it still soothed my troubled mind.

Review:
Very high action romantic suspense. It features the unrest in the Pakistan/Afghan areas as well as the conflicting sentiments regarding the US there. It was published almost 10 years ago, so it may not be as accurate now as at that time, but I felt like it was probably close. I hope it gave a fair view to all sides but not ever having been in the area, I can't really speak to that. I felt like it was brave for the female MC to try and continue her father's legacy of bringing education to girls. It's sad for me as an American who has always had freedoms to think that it's not that way everywhere and that there are extremists who feel those who think differently than they do should be killed for it. Overall the book was good from a character and romance perspective. The subject matter could be difficult to accept regarding issues that are not easily resolved - certainly not in a romance book for entertainment.

Review:
I can never go wrong with an In Death book. This one didn't disappoint. This one was more procedural and less awful serial killer focused which I appreciated. I love when Eve starts making connections out of almost nothing that leads to huge takedowns of bad people! Also can't wait to see how the living arrangements with Mavis and Peabody et al plays out!

Review: Wayyyy too long. I really enjoyed the book but I just don't understand why it had to be so long. It seemed to drag endlessly. I felt like the plot was just going in circles non stop. Plus I struggle when an MC has sex with others after feelings are involved with the other MC. Even if it is technically not cheating. In the book it felt even more unnecessary. Why not stick to fighting or whipping? Idk. I still liked the book overall.

Review: Wes is back and he has his own personal stalker this time! He's also disconnected from his best-friends Lilly and Rhys. After he loses everything, he moves to the middle of nowhere to the one school that can hopefully help him get his dream back. But when he meets Kingsley "King" she throws all of his carefully laid plans out the window. They have this instant explosive attraction. Only, when he finds out who she really is, it's even more devastating because they have both fallen hard for each other. But being betrayed by his best friends and now the girl he loves is too much for him.
I loved King and Wes so much. Their attraction and their connection are so hot. I love the way they are pulled together and weather the storms thrown their way. And I love, love their HEA.
Up next is Followed by the Dark (The Dark #5) Denielle and Marcus's story. Finally, we'll find the reason behind the hatred Marcus has for Denielle.

Rating/Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Set in Victorian England, heroine, and retired Naval surgeon partner, investigate murders and Victorian crime. Romance is a secondary plot line as main characters work slowly toward each other through series, not book. I like this series because of the tidbits of intellectual knowledge and language I pick up, as I enjoy the engaging story rich in factoids on Egytology, taxidemy, Queen Victoria's family and lepidoptery.
