This may help you decide whether a wolf is an animal

Definition of Animal: 1. COUNTABLE NOUN A1
An animal is a living creature such as a dog, lion, or rabbit, rather than a bird, fish, insect, or human being.

My question as well. Birds are in Kingdom Animalia as far as classification is concerned.

Would it count for 10. Taxis and Pedestrian crossing, if in the precis it states that the character broke down in her car? That implies that she was traveling from one place to another. Thanks for considering it!

No - it can be any of the three 'colours' but it can't have a bright colour on there of more than about 20%.

These covers work:
Hired Hadley (The Foster Brothers #2) by Nora Phoenix
How to Be a Normal Person (How to Be, #1) by T.J. Klune
The Beauty Within by H.L. Day

This one is too bright with too much red:
Men, Murder & Makeup (Drag Queen Detective #1) by Shane K. Morton

Hope this helps.

Hi Kayleigh - I answered in your team thread. Your post was great, except that it went to the paperback edition. I explained how to find the Kindle version in GR.

message 71: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Sep 10, 2022 03:56PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments **Edit** Even though this wasn't the issue, I've left this here for anyone that is interested :)

With a few new players for this round, I thought I'd detail how to find the correct edition for the book you are reading to match your page numbers.
(Remember, for this challenge, any edition's page count works.)

When adding the book to your post:
* Click on 'add book/author' on the top right of your message box
* Type on the name of the title (if its popular I often add in the first or last name of the author as well)
* Select the correct book from the list and click 'add'

*** To get the correct version of that book if it isn't the first one:
- click on the 'other editions' (hyperlink under the 'add' button)
- select the correct book

* At the bottom of the pop-up box you may choose whether to add a simple link or use the book cover.

The way I know which version to select from the list is when I look at the book on bookshelf and hover over the cover or the link, down the bottom of the page it shows the hyperlink that GR uses. Remember the last 4 digits on the longer number, then hover over the books in the 'add' list, look for that sequence.

You can also open each book in a new tab if you click on the book in the insertion pop-up window.

I do all this on the desktop version, not in the app.

Sorry for the confusion Kayleigh (and Ashleigh) - LOL.

We just need one of our lovely GR librarians to update the page count on the edition you are reading from Amazon. There are a few in the group :)

(It only matters because the other version on GR has a page count of 60pp which isn't long enough for this challenge. You would otherwise need to use that edition before linking to Amazon.)

MountainKat | 31732 comments Hi Jane, using Option 2 can I use this series - Smith's Shifter World Series. I ask because it is a collection of linked series all set in the same world with overlapping characters. The books list the smaller series rather than the overall world series, but the overall series is listed on GR.

Thanks!

Yes -that looks fine, assuming one of your team mates has a book from the series on their shelves... Or as you wanting to use a book that's linked through an associated series, not listed on that page?

They have read a book on that list, but earlier than the one I want to read. So on the books they list as two different series, but all linked through the world series. My book is the first book in the series after the one she read.

If both books are on the list, then its all good.

Hi Diane - this is a hard one. Very borderline, but I'll accept even though there's no tie since the jacket (and pale pink shirt) imply a suit.
