Read sometime between 2006-9, a children's novel which was fairly long and had a green cover with a big snake on it and some people. The story was something about a giant snake and there were tiny people like maybe elves or something and I think they dressed in green too and they were all going on a quest or adventure along the back of the giant snake. Also I think it ended with the snake crying, I don't know why I remember that but whatever. Thankyou!

Was it part of a series?Do you remember anything about the villain?
it wasn't part of a series and i don't think there was a villain as such, more like evil versions of the little elf things
did it have fantasy characters, like harpies or trolls?
it was definitely fantasy but i don't know if it had any other fantasy creatures apart from the elves or pixies or whatever they were
