When Edward continues to delay turning over the estate ledgers to Phoebe (for months), was it reasonable to be suspicious or could he have just believed it wasn’t work for a woman? What did you think in this moment?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I was suspicious. Even though Edward was a misogynist, if he were on the up and up, he would have brought the books and talked down to Phoebe.

Either way, I am not a fan.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments It was definitely suspicious. Edward may have truly believed that it wasn't work for a woman, but if there was nothing wrong with the books, he would have had nothing to hid.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Yes, it was suspicious. He was clearly covering something up he didn't want her to see.

I was more than suspicious, downright sure something was up. Once he agreed to give her the books and then didn’t, that was an alarm bell.
