I wish I had more details about this. I read this book circa 2000 and LOVED it. I believe it was brand new at the time. All I can remember is that it's a YA Fantasy the characters in the hidden world wanted to keep the people in our world from discovering it because then they would lose the tranquility and calmness of their world. It's NOT the Secrets of Droon! I believe the book started with a B, but I'm not convinced of that.
