One by one the group either kills themselves or murders each other, one dies by going to a floating rock in space and smashing their space helmet. The main protagonist finds an escape pod and leaves with his coworker. The coworker kills herself by opening the escape pod. The main protagonist now lives by eating himself with duplication from a machine.

I could be wrong, because some of the details don't quite match, but this sounds like I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison.

I don't think it is 'I Have No Mouth...' as that isn't set in space at all and there's no black hole. The full text is available online if you search for it. Great story, but I don't think it's this one.
