Stacy | 1 comments Much Ado About Nothing. My eighth grade teacher insisted on making this our introduction to Shakespeare and I'm so happy she did!

message 38: by Eduardo (new)

Eduardo Definitely The Color Purple.

I read the back of the book when it was first assigned in 11th grade and it was definitely a book that I would never have read on my own.

That being said, I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself enjoying the book and reading ahead of the class (don't tell my teacher). This book has encouraged me to venture out of my reading comfort zone more, and choose books that might not seem that interesting at first glance and for that I am forever thankful for this book

message 40: by Lourdes (new)

Lourdes (lourdesjoselyn) The Scarlet Letter
It was such a good book and will forever be one of my favorites. I love how Nathanial Hawthorne, avoided society's stereotypes of women. Also how he let the reader see Hester for who she truly was, and not let the "crime" be all she was known for.
