"The Outsiders" was SO GOOD. I really enjoyed 'The Death of Ivan Ilych" that I read for a philosophy class as well. Very depressing but somewhat hopeful for a younger reader like myself lmao
i haven’t read much for school but my favorite so far has been the giver even though the ending was a bit rushed
Frankenstein definitely, i read it my sophomore and junior year of high school and i know a lot of people dislike it, i loved it!
animal farm by george orwell. not the faerie smut i usually read <3 but i’m a bit of a nerd and this has some of the most interesting satire and symbolism ever
Nyxia by Scott Reintgen, The lightning thief, Turtles all the way down, The Kite runner and a couple more whom name I've forgotten
Much Ado About Nothing. My eighth grade teacher insisted on making this our introduction to Shakespeare and I'm so happy she did!
Definitely The Color Purple.I read the back of the book when it was first assigned in 11th grade and it was definitely a book that I would never have read on my own.
That being said, I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself enjoying the book and reading ahead of the class (don't tell my teacher). This book has encouraged me to venture out of my reading comfort zone more, and choose books that might not seem that interesting at first glance and for that I am forever thankful for this book
The Scarlet LetterIt was such a good book and will forever be one of my favorites. I love how Nathanial Hawthorne, avoided society's stereotypes of women. Also how he let the reader see Hester for who she truly was, and not let the "crime" be all she was known for.
The Arc of a Scythe series, I had to read it for grade eight, my teacher used to be in a book club and it was one that she read for it, so she decided to get us to read it. I may have gotten a bit obsessed.
I dont read books for assignment often so i would just have to go for Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck :)
