biba ♡ (books_with_biba) Hi Eliza! The best way to get ARCs is to contact the author or publisher. Go to the book on Goodreads, and then look under Book details & editions. There, it will list the publisher (in this case, Tordotcom). Search them up on Google, go to their website, and then go to 'Contact'. Sometimes publishers will also list this as 'Media'. To make it easier for you, I've already pulled up their email (publicity@tor.com).

Send them an email introducing yourself, along with where you review, follower count, etc. You should probably make your profile public so they can read your reviews. You should also mention that a physical copy would be preferred. On this group, you will mostly find indie/vanity authors who wouldn't be able to send you a copy of a traditionally published book (or any book that they haven't published, really).

I would also recommend reviewing more books before requesting an ARC. MacMillan requires that you've been blogging for AT LEAST six months - and I only see three reviews on your profile. I'm assuming this is to prove that you're committed to blogging. I've been blogging for six months, and have reviewed on Goodreads from before that. So it's good to have some reviews below your belt before you request any books.

Here is an example of of a request you could send - I've reworded my typical email to better fit you, but you can definitely change some more (and you probably should! Make it your own)

'Hello,
My name is Eliza and I am a {insert fact - optional (e.x. ownvoices, american, queer, etc)} book reviewer. I was wondering if you would be willing to send me a physical ARC of A Restless Truth by Freya Marske in exchange for honest reviews on {name the platforms where you would review (preferably with links)} which reach {number - don't lie, though!] people per month. {Here, you can include a selling pitch. For example, I usually write about how I've reviewed multiple ARCs & publisher - sent books before. You can share whatever you want about yourself to make your request seem more appealing}
Please let me know if you have any questions or would be interested!
Regards,
Eliza'

You can also include where you're based (Canada, the U.S., somewhere in Europe, etc. as some publishing companies have restrictions as to where they can send a book)

One of my favourite bloggers is The Irish Banana. She has a series called ARC essentials, in which she talks to different publishing companies about their ARC request requirements. Here is the one for Macmillan (Tor is an imprint)
http://theirishbanana.blogspot.com/20...
She has a bunch of other ones for different publishers, so the best is a blend between them all if you don't know what to include for a request. However, do try and answer all the questions the essentials/publisher requests!

I hope this helps (and sorry it's so long)! Feel free to contact me if you need any more help.

My blog is currently https://readsbymoonlight.wordpress.com/, though I'm in the process of rebranding. However, feel free to take a look at it & at my previous reviews so you can learn more about blogging.
