I read this book in 2016 about (view spoiler)[a girl moving away from her best friend into a secluded area that is a bit spooky. While in her new house, she wakes up(?) to her dead pet mouse and the mouse tells her to follow him into a fantasy world where they must save the world by finding a rose of some sort. One key imagery I remember from this book is how there were these skeleton vultures. (hide spoiler)]

To specify further with the cover, the cover had a girl and a mouse on a sled sliding down a mountain. The cover is mostly blue with golden embossing. I believe there may be thorny vines in gold surrounding the cover as well as a rose in the center of the cover.
